Space, time, matter - what really is all that? What are charges, what flavours? What is preventing time from running backwards? Quantum Gravity is describing all that - consisely, comprehensively, to the point. The Grand Unified Theory (GUT = ToE = "Theory of Everything"), finally, is caring for the rest by relating all forces of nature to each other. Parities are the peep-holes into strange worlds before the Big Bang and beyond the event horizon. Everything is calculable, even the transitions there. By working out the value of the fine-structure constant, theory opens to recognizing Dark Matter as the cradle of visible matter; the GUT is demonstrating birth and properties of ordinary matter out of Dark Matter and by what its creation process is stopped again. A totally novel assessment is arising with respect to neutrino oscillations. Pauli's principle explains physically. Einstein's cosmological constant is demystified. Dark Energy, cosmic inflation, the number of dimensions we are living in are not any more dully accepted from outside - theory is deriving all that. As a matter of fact, the gateway to developing Quantum Gravity has been widely open since Einstein, Planck, and Dirac. Only, nobody has passed its threshold; nuclear fission had changed priorities. Then, Gell-Mann had knocked at the door of the GUT. This time, however, it was the "Standard" model to crash the door back into its frame, and the string model sealed the lock. - Meanwhile, the model succeeded in smuggling into the open underneath the feet of its jailers, ready for being applied more extensively.

Forget everything you thought you knew about reality. The world is a seriously bizarre place. Things can exist in two places at once and travel backwards and forwards in time. Waves and particles are one and the same, and objects change their behaviour according to whether they are being watched. This is not some alternative universe but the realm of the very small, where quantum mechanics rules. In this weird world of atoms and their constituents, our common sense understanding of reality breaks down - yet quantum mechanics has never failed an experimental test. What does it all mean? For all its weirdness, quantum mechanics has given us many practical technologies including lasers and the transistors that underlie computers and all digital technology. In the future, it promises computers more powerful than any built before, the ability to communicate with absolute privacy, and even quantum teleportation. The Quantum World explores the past, present and future of quantum science, its applications and mind-bending implications. Discover how ideas from quantum mechanics are percolating out into the vast scale of the cosmos - perhaps, in the future, to reveal a new understanding of the big bang and the nature of space and time. ABOUT THE SERIES New Scientist Instant Expert books are definitive and accessible entry points to the most important subjects in science; subjects that challenge, attract debate, invite controversy and engage the most enquiring minds. Designed for curious readers who want to know how things work and why, the Instant Expert series explores the topics that really matter and their impact on individuals, society, and the planet, translating the scientific complexities around us into language that's open to everyone, and putting new ideas and discoveries into perspective and context.

The reproducibility of facts is the hallmark of a natural science, the impossibility of counting up to infinity that of a measuring process, and the "law of great numbers" that of statistics. A statement like "Nothing will come from nothing, and nothing gets lost" will yield conservation laws. Bell's own interpretation of his no-go theorems, then, will directly give Quantum Gravity, and its iteration the unification of all types of forces of nature ("New Physics"). The present paper will outline the reasoning of Quantum Gravity and of New Physics rather than their technical details - as far as all that allows for separating those issues from each other. Thermodynamic principles are imposing 2 alternative channels to us: A closed system will yield the reaction channel conserving probabilty, and an open system the dynamic channel. Causality will mark the open channel, entanglement the reaction channel. Parities are the key to understanding a black hole free of singularities. Space, time, and mass can be counted from the non-valence parts of a particle as occurrence rates of special double-quant properties; Higgs is dispensable. The spectrum of stable particles derives from the representation of our static multiverse. Its building universes give us the illusion of motion (like by a flip book). Lagrange's formalism and its canonical quantization prove as classical dead locks of obsolete centuries. The multitude of positive results - like the fine-structure constant calculated correctly, e.g. - speak in favour of New Physics, the total absence of "broken" quantum numbers in favour of a deeper "understanding" of nature.

A critical review of the »Standard« Models. A characteristic of New Physics is its hierarchic organisation in powers of 8 dimensions (Matryoshka principle) and its split into 2 channels. According to Bell, this enables the coexistence of causality with entanglement, shows how visible matter with its non-valence parts condensed out of dark matter, explains the quark confinement and the asymptotic flatness of Eternal Inflation. The world formula unifies all forces of nature to a Grand Unified Theory and this GUT is combined with quantum gravity into a Theory of Everything (ToE). By reproducing the correct value of the fine-structure con-stant, weak interactions are shown to be a dipole effect. A novel segregation between micro- and macrocosm explains the measuring process and the irreversibility of time. It demonstrates the logic gaps in Einstein's General Relativity by quan-tising his curvilinear geometry (including virtual states, dark energy, etc.) thus generating a consistent black-hole physics without singularities. For all that, A. Young and P. Dirac had provided the mathematical basics, while classical physics and Einstein had gone on isolating themselves in self-made deadlocks.

The Standard Model is inconsistent with that of general relativity, to the point that one or both theories break down under certain conditions (for example within known space time singularities like the Big Bang and the centers of black holes beyond the event horizon). The appearance of singularities in any physical theory is an indication that something is wrong and that there is a need for new physics. Singularities can be avoided in GR and any field theory through the introduction of an efficient regularization procedure as this book directs. Regularization is a method of modifying observables which have singularities in order to make them finite by the introduction of a suitable parameter called regulator. The regulator, also known as a "cutoff", models our lack of knowledge about physics at unobserved scales (e.g. scales of small size or large energy levels). It compensates for the possibility that "new physics" (beyond the SM) may be discovered at those scales which the present theory is unable to model, while enabling the current theory to give accurate predictions as an "effective theory" within its intended scale of use. Therefore the main objective of this book is to discover new physics (Quantum Gravity) at those scales (or extra dimensions) which the General relativity theory and Quantum mechanics is unable to model. This has been achieved and remains the work of an experimenter to verify. While this is a new approach to quantum gravity, it reproduces the results in loop quantum gravity and string theory as the book indicates. This book provides a complete overview of quantum gravity from the frontiers of theoretical physics research for graduate students and researchers.

Philosophy would not be worth a penny if it would be contradicting natural sciences, and the same holds true for the sciences if they would be in conflict with nature. The claim of natural sciences is it to map nature. For consistency, hence, the author, here, is outlining the last frontiers fundamental physics, actually, is disposing of. This interface of physics towards philosophy is based on cognition gained by Quantum Gravity, the consistent unification of Einstein's General Relativity with Planck's quanta and Gell-Mann's quark model. The quantization of Einstein's curvilinear space-time is giving rise to a completely novel level of a "hidden" structure far below the level of quarks and leptons, which, in accordance with Bell's no-go-theorems, is leading to the statement that our world in its interior should be "absolutely" deterministic: the postulate of a free will to exist is strictly contradicting the rules of nature - provided there are any. All those great puzzles we are confronted with by recent research - from dark matter, dark energy, cosmic inflation, the composition of the cosmological constant, etc., until down to the quark confinement and to the value of the fine-structure constant - are solved; the interior of a black hole is calculated. Nature is going to release its ultimate secrets. The layman going to delve into those depths of present-day cognition is well-advised to admit some leisure-time while absorbing all those exciting facts nature is offering to the interested reader.

Einstein's revolutionary ideas had been suffering from his rudimentary mathematical knowledge beyond the domain of differential geometry. Thus, he never recognised the invariants of his General Relativity, and he never had been able to formulate his "World Formula". Hence, his basic equation remained somewhat blurry and fuzzy, touching just one of his invariants; the additional ones fully escaped his notice. His description of physics close to big values of heavy masses went completely wrong: the rotation of stars about the galactic centre of the Milky Way is contradicting his equation. Neither did he succeed in describing a black hole. For compensation, cosmologists invented their concept of "dark matter" later on. "Dark energy", accidentally, had been made possible by Einstein's "cosmological constant". Nevertheless, he had been unaware that his "constant" is a variable. Its origin and composition remained enigmatic to him and to his followers until to-day. His conviction of needing "hidden variables", however, proved to be principally correct. Bell's premature rejection of them by his no-go theorems had to be revoked by his "superdeterminism" later on. In the end, they paved the way in order to proceed via Quantum Gravity towards a New Physics solving all those problems culminating in the quantisation of Einstein's curvilinear spacetime and in the non-valence structure of matter. The 4 dimensions of space and time, the quark confinement, and the (correct) numerical value of the fine-structure constant are results of theory. These works on Quantum Gravity are exclusive. Due to lacking solution ideas of how to approach the problem at all, nobody really is working on it. The author cracked that tough nut successfully.

Quantum gravity (QG) reduces the infinite number of classical transformations to the finite number of their generators. As a Dirac algebra, they form the basis of a U(2,2) of 4x4=16 pairs of 4 discrete types of quanta. Einstein's General Theory of Relativity (GR) is a defective application of its conformal subgroup SO(2,4). The experiment identifies its CPT extension to a U(4,4) of a complex Lie algebra as a correct description of our universe in the large and the dynamics of quantised particles in the small. Black holes are free of singularities, swallow energy-momentum, and return spacetime. Pseudo-unitarity is the engine of time. Forces prove the "Theory of Everything" (ToE) to be an 8-fold degeneracy of QG, which, like GR, is fully geometrizable. It describes the world of elementary particles with their non-valence structures and flavours, dark energy, dark matter, and the filaments and voids of Galactic Walls. Weak interactions do not break any conservation law. Due to 8x8=2**6, the ToE provides exactly 6 Goldstone particles with spins 2, 1, and 1/2: graviton, photon, 3 left-handed neutrinos, a sterile meson. The graviton separates input from output; as a simulation effect of Young tableaux, antimatter is largely suppressed. QG and ToE attribute all physics solely to the occupation numbers of the ToE quantum types and to our current position in our universe. This way, ToE allows to derive the numerical particle spectrum including masses by theory. According to Bell's superdeterminism, our universe is invariant; there is no free will. Dynamics compares fixed observer positions and identifies local variation as "motion".
