Are the sermons preached in Christian churches every Sunday built on a theology tainted by racism? Didanti-Semitism run rampant among the early Churchfathers? These are claims made by some contemporary thinkers, particularly within the religious movement known as Torahism (aka Hebrew Roots, Torah-observant Christianity). In light of the modern focus on racial theory and racial justice, R. L. Solberg traces Jewish-Christianrelations through the first three centuries of Christianity. His research reveals that, while anti-Jewish sentiment did exist in early Christianity, the nature and impact of those attitudes was not what you might think.

Many Christians have told me to quit being so nit-picking and let by-gone be be-gones, that what happened in the past was then, and now is now and things have changed. But, that is not true. Christians still read from their so-called NEW testament that is full of Jew-bashing, so subliminal that most Christians overlook it. It is not my desire to claim Christianity is wrong and that you should not believe in your god - but I want people to think. Perhaps what you have been led to believe is wrong? Think... Why is it wrong for a Christian to deny the divinity of Jesus yet why do Christians turn their blind eye to Christians Missionaries trying to convert Jews against the basic tenants of Judaism? Why is it that most all pictures of the different characters in Christianity have a sun-disk above their heads? The Church made its own "spin" on this calling them halos, but didn't the Church change Sabbath to Sunday, the day of the sun? Who actually wrote the Christian bible that Christians all over the world swear it? The Church admits they really don't know for sure and only guessed. Did Jesus write anything in the NEW testament, or was his thoughts written by men who thought they knew? Why did it take 2,000 years before the Pope acknowledged the Christian hatred towards Jews and the need for Christians to repent? Why all of a sudden were the Church wrong and the Jews right?

A growing movement within Christianity is teaching a return to the Old Testament laws, including the kosher food commandments. In this short but informative book, Professor Solberg tests those teachings against Scripture to reveal that while Christians are free in Christ to "eat biblically clean" if they choose, they are not required to do so.

Misreading Scripture With Individualist Eyes written by E. Randolph Richards and has been published by InterVarsity Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-10-13 with Religion categories.

The Bible was written within collectivist cultures. When Westerners, immersed in individualism, read the Bible, it's easy to misinterpret important elements—or miss them altogether. In any culture, the most important things usually go without being said. So to read Scripture well we benefit when we uncover the unspoken social structures and values of its world. We need to recalibrate our vision. Combining the expertise of a biblical scholar and a missionary practitioner, Misreading Scripture with Individualist Eyes is an essential guidebook to the cultural background of the Bible and how it should inform our reading. E. Randolph Richards and Richard James explore deep social structures of the ancient Mediterranean—kinship, patronage, and brokerage—along with their key social tools—honor, shame, and boundaries—that the biblical authors lived in and lie below the surface of each text. From Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar to Peter's instructions to elders, the authors strip away individualist assumptions and bring the world of the biblical writers to life. Expanding on the popular Misreading Scripture with Western Eyes, this book makes clear how understanding collectivism will help us better understand the Bible, which in turn will help us live more faithfully in an increasingly globalized world.
