Exploring lived atheism in the South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, this book offers a unique insight into India’s rapidly transforming multi-religious society. It explores the social, cultural, and aesthetic challenges faced by a movement of secular activists in their endeavors to establish atheism as a practical and comprehensive way of life. On the basis of original ethnographic material and engaged conceptual analysis, Total Atheism develops an alternative to Eurocentric accounts of secularity and critically revisits central themes of South Asian scholarship from the hitherto marginalized vantage point of radically secular and explicitly irreligious atheists in India.

How to Prove god Does Not Exist is the complete guide to the nonbeliever stance. The most diverse validation of atheism ever written, it deconstructs every major criticism of atheism and defense of religion through logical, philosophical, historical, cultural, moral and scientific means. This builds towards a more strident approach towards asserting atheism, with five key justifications outlined for why god does not exist. This expansive work employs the philosophy of Epicurus, David Hume and Friedrich Nietzsche, the science of Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, plus the logic of Bertrand Russell, the psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud, and the contemporized insights of New Atheism advocates such as Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins. It features original concluding insights with prominent atheists such as scientists Vic Stenger and Michael Shermer, plus philosophers Peter Singer and Michel Onfray. There are also unprecedented views of atheism by notable believers, including the 21st century's leading Christian philosopher, Professor Richard Swinburne, while journalist Peter Hitchens unveils why his late brother Christopher's arguments for atheism were "unoriginal, trivial and often ill-informed." The all-encompassing How to Prove god Does Not Exist is the complete armory of arguments that every atheist should know.

"There is only one way to deal with bullies, even in this politically correct world—and that is to crush them." USA Today bestselling author Anthony DeStefano is tired of playing nice. After years of responding patiently and agreeably to the pseudo-intellectual arguments and tactics of today’s militant atheists, he’s had enough. In this entertaining, no-holds-barred retort to atheism and its proponents, DeStefano reveals the intellectual bankruptcy at atheism’s core and equips believers to respond to its hollow arguments. A witty and devastating takedown of the "new atheist" position, Inside the Atheist Mind systematically debunks the theories of Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, and others, revealing how inconsistent, illogical, and frankly ludicrous their conclusions truly are. Poking fun at atheists in a clever and intelligent way, DeStefano demonstrates just how full of holes the new atheism is and reveals that it is actually a "religion" of its own, complete with a creed, a set of commandments and sacraments, and a rigid moral code with rewards and punishments. More than that, DeStefano exposes that atheism is itself a "superstition" of the worst kind. Using irony and a healthy dose of playful sarcasm, Inside the Atheist Mind lampoons, teases, and deflates the atheist position, unmasking it for what it is--an empty, intellectually barren philosophy, devoid of any logic and common sense.

The main purpose of this book is to let people know what an atheist thinks, what his views are, what he thinks about religious arguments, and why he is not convinced by them. Several important themes are addressed in this book, religious, or not everyone should know these writings, they are not only a criticism of religions, but also of atheism itself. Atheists are the most disunited minority in the universe, so I started what has become this book with a critical text on the foundations of atheism, an investigation into the reasons for this disunity, an atheist's text for atheists, words that struggle to demonstrate the true meaning and origin of atheism. For me, the atheist movement will only come out of puberty when there is a self-assertive critique capable of coherently constructing an atheist identity. Most atheists these days are like eternal teenagers, they think that one dictionary definition is enough to instantly become a complete atheist. They consider themselves atheists and assume an incoherent brand of individualist rebels asserting a supposed absolute freedom; and, in this way, in the illusion of total freedom in atheism, without seeking the logical coherence of their ideas, they end up reproducing religious values, supernatural and incoherent beliefs. These kind of atheists don't study and are a disgrace. An unbeliever must study religion to become a full atheist. A religious must also learn a little about atheism to maintain their faith. An army must always know its opponents to have a good strategy, otherwise it would be a long shot. If you don't like some subject, you shouldn't run away from these ideas, quite the contrary, you should learn a little to try to refute, disagree, or agree on a miserable point, anyway, otherwise, you're just someone superficial and ignorant who rejects everything just because you heard it around. Any discussion must respect logic, if you do not accept a statement you must counter it with another argument and not something subjective and baseless. It is necessary to be open to dialogue so as not to fall into the error of considering irrational everything that does not match our limits of perception.

Asks freethinkers to declare their atheism in defiance of the stigmatization of disbelief. With the rise of religious fundamentalism worldwide and a new 'spiritualism' in North America, expressed disbelief in God or gods has become a taboo once again in the Anglo-American world. Faith in Faithlessness is intended to contribute to the reassertion of the legitimacy of godlessness as a philosophical and moral stance. Atheism is becoming increasingly popular and it sometimes feels that much of the western world is now post-religious. But now the initial charge of Richard Dawkins and the new atheists has passed, what does atheism really mean? This is the question that Dylan Evans addresses in Atheism: All That Matters, providing a thoughtful and engaging atheist manifesto. What values can atheists share with believers? How can a belief that something doesn't exist still be a belief? Is modern atheism new or just a new form of an old system of values? Building on the work of atheist philosophers and psychologists, he shows how the history of atheist thought has developed and offers fresh ideas for how life has meaning from an atheist perspective. All That Matters about atheism. All That Matters books are a fast way to get right to the heart of key issues.

How Atheists rely on urban myths about religion to buttress their case against God. God, and the whole business of being dependent upon him, is being downgraded, downsized, downplayed, and most of all, just plain dismissed in the modern, cultured, educated parts of Europe and in academia. This process is powered and driven by a whole, growing series of interlocked urban myths about what is supposed to be involved in being a religious (and often specifically Christian) believer. This book examines and critiques those myths, showing how the Christian faith can be intelligent and supported by reason.

Atheism Explained written by David Ramsay Steele and has been published by Open Court this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-02-01 with Religion categories.

Atheism Explained explores the claims made both for and against the existence of God. On the pro side: that the wonders of the world can only be explained by an intelligent creator; that the universe had to start somewhere; telepathy, out-of-body experiences, and other paranormal phenomena demonstrate the existence of a spirit world; and that those who experience God directly provide evidence as real as any physical finding. After disputing these arguments through calm, careful criticism, author David Ramsay Steele presents the reasons why God cannot exist: monstrous, appalling evils; the impossibility of omniscience; and the senseless concept that God is a thinking mind without a brain. He also explores controversial topics such as Intelligent Design, the power of prayer, religion without God, and whether a belief in God makes people happier and healthier. Steele’s rational, easy-to-understand prose helps readers form their own conclusions about this eternally thorny topic.

Christian Atheism written by Slavoj Žižek and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-04-04 with Philosophy categories.

If we want to be true atheists, do we have to begin with a religious edifice and undermine it from within? Slavoj Žižek has long been a commentator on, and critic of, Christian theology. His preoccupation with Badiou's concept of 'the event' alongside the Pauline thought of the New Testament has led to a decidedly theological turn in his thinking. Drawing on traditions and subjects as broad as Buddhist thought, dialectical materialism, political subjectivity, quantum physics, AI and chatbots, this book articulates Žižek's idea of a religious life for the first time. Christian Atheism is a unique insight into Žižek's theological project and the first book-length exploration of his religious thinking. In his own words, "to become a true dialectical materialist, one should go through the Christian experience." Crucial to his whole conception of 'experience' is not some kind of spiritual revelation but rather the logic of materialistic thought. This affirmation of Christian theology whilst simultaneously deconstructing it is a familiar Žižekian move, but one that holds deep-seated political, philosophical and, in the end, personal import for him. Here is Žižek's most extensive treatment of theology and religion to date.

If you cannot comfortably say with confidence that Jesus died for your sins and opens the door of salvation for you or that you deny Jesus, then this book is for you. So many Christians take Jesus for granted, and so many people do not understand His torment and the suffering He endured for us. We began a spiritual journey when we enter this world. We have a natural body and a world full of responsibilities to challenge us on our journey. We are influenced by many outside sources and personal interactions with our family members and friends. Ultimately, we make the most important decision of our life. Do we believe in God and accept Jesus as our Savior, or do we reject God and accept atheism? When you analyze the facts of the life of Jesus, his loving teachings, his horrible suffering, death and miraculous resurrection, you come to understand He did it for you. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. His teaching brings light into your life. Jesus is the gateway to eternal happiness when we leave this world. Atheism with its evil influence wants to drag you down and have you reject God. Atheists are in total denial about God, Jesus, supernatural experiences, something from nothing, and the wisdom in the formation of this universe and mankind. Atheists want you to believe you will simply rot in the ground and accept life with no future hope. If you are an atheist, don't laugh at this thought and concern. As a Christian, I care for you and your soul. That is certainly more than what the atheistic thinking has in mind for you. Atheism, under the influence of Satan, offers you nothing but the door way to eternal conscious separation from God. This book is a direct challenge to the thoughts and beliefs of the atheist. I wrote this book with the hope it just might stir the mind of a non-believer. Then believing the Holy Spirit will do the rest.
