Toward The Light written by Johanne Agerskov and has been published by Vandrer Mod Lysets Forlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1979 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

The sub-title of this deeply moving and compelling work defines it as a message to mankind from the transcendental world thus placing it firmly among the very few books which are held to be of supernatural origin. 'Toward the Light' is about love and forgiveness. It is about peace and the unification of a divided humanity, and about achieving a more complete understanding of ourselves. For some this book will be controversial reading. It explains such things as the true nature of Good and Evil; the mystery of Reincarnation; and the consequences of the Law of Reciprocal Action (The Law of Karma). It answers theological questions such as how can we reconcile belief in God who is all-good and all-powerful with the existence of a world that contains so much that is incontestably evil? It is, quite simply, a work of revealed knowledge that bears on the fundamental problems of life -- and upon the reality of death. The book offers a message to all -- regardless of race, religion or creed. All that is asked is that the reader should keep an open mind and be guided by his or her conscience. That being the case, 'Toward the Light' will illuminate the spirit of all who open themselves to its message, for its message is truly a gift of love to every human being.

In Towards the Light, A.C. Grayling tells the story of the long and difficult battle for freedom in the West, from the Reformation to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, from the battle for the vote to the struggle for the right to freedom of conscience. As Grayling passionately affirms, it is a story - and a struggle - that continues to this day as those in power use the threat of terrorism in the 21st century to roll-back the liberties that so many have fought and died to win for us. Including an appendix of landmark documents, including the British and American Bills of Rights and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, the Bloomsbury Revelations edition also includes a new preface by the author reflecting on developments since the book's original publication.

Nothing is as it seems—and no one is telling the truth Luz Concepcion returns to Guatemala to murder Martin Benavides, the man who destroyed her family. Benavides, who rose from insurgent fighter to president, controls a major drug network. Richard Clement became Luz's resettlement officer when she was evacuated to the U.S. He now works for the CIA, which has its own reasons for eliminating Benavides. Richard's team persuades Luz to pursue a job as nanny to Benavides' grandson, Cesar, a lonely child with an absentee playboy father. The Guatemala contact for her mission is Evan McManus, an expat painter who pursues Luz, hoping to persuade her to model for him—and more. Luz initially spurns his advances, but her first terrifying encounter with Martin Benavides propels her into his arms. Complicating matters, Luz conceals from all sides her clandestine contact with her surviving cousin, Antonio Torres, a guerrilla leader fighting the government propped up by the Benavides and their drug money. Her plans unravel as, bit by bit, Luz learns that nothing is as it seems—and no one is telling the whole truth. Perfect for readers who appreciate a novel female protagonist, an "everywoman" confronted with an overwhelming moral dilemma and crushing physical danger

Towards The Light written by John Compere and has been published by Writers Cramp Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-11 with Religion categories.

Towards the Light describes the agonizing journey of a devout fifth-generation Southern Baptist clergyman from unassailable belief to utter and complete atheism. The book lays out in detail why he outgrew the religion of his ancestors and moved towards the light of reason. After leaving the ministry, Dr. Compere went back to graduate school where he received a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Thus, his book includes psychological explanations for many religious phenomena including being born again, believing in the efficacy of prayer, and why religion continues to be so ubiquitous in an otherwise modern society. Dr. Compere is convinced that many people of faith have entertained serious doubts about the religion they inherited and should be supported in their search for how to live a good life without a belief in the supernatural. He examines many of the essential tenets of the Christian faith including an explanation of their origin while providing cogent reasons for no longer accepting the myths upon which they rest. "Growing up a minister's son, the church was not just a part of my life -- it WAS my life. Everything in my world revolved around the church and its teachings. From my earliest memories, Christian dogma was relentlessly drilled into me until I believed that my only purpose on earth was to glorify God. Anything short of that was failure. I got the message. I gave my first sermon at age fifteen and became an ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Church at eighteen. Although serious theological doubts began in college, I set them aside and managed to continue in the ministry until I had completed a seminary degree and served two pastorates. After a decade of denial, I finally admitted to myself that I was becoming publicly phony and privately cynical. I couldn't live with that so at age 32, I left the ministry which had been my whole life, and struck out in a new direction, one which would allow me to live with integrity. This is the story of my journey Towards the Light and of the inescapable, but heretical, conclusions about religion which occurred along the way."

In this compelling new book—drawn from conversations with and narrated by award-winning Vatican journalist John L. Allen, Jr.—Barron, founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries, proclaims in vivid language the goodness and truth of the Catholic tradition. "Hadi and Sama are a young Syrian couple in the throes of new love, building a life in the country that brought them together. They'd met in Cambridge, Massachusetts: he, a shell-shocked refugee of a bloody civil war; she, a passionate dreamer who'd come to America years earlier in search of new horizons. Now, they giddily await the birth of their son, a boy whose native language would be freedom and belonging. When Sama is five months pregnant, Hadi's father dies, in Amman, the night before the embassy interview that would finally reunite Hadi with his parents and deliver them from a country in crisis. Hadi flies back to the Middle East for the funeral, promising he'll be gone only a few days. On the day his flight is due to arrive in Boston, Sama decides to surprise him at the airport, eager to scoop him up and bring him back home. She waits, and waits. There are protests at Logan airport, and Hadi never shows up. What Sama doesn't yet know is that Hadi has been stopped at the border. That he's been taken away for questioning, detained in a windowless, timeless, nightmarish limbo. She does not know about the travel ban, that his legal status in the U.S., which yesterday seemed rock solid, is now in jeopardy - and with it, the chance that he'll ever step foot on U.S. soil again. Amid the protests, Sama goes into premature labor; their son, Naseem, is born, too soon, his father nowhere to be found, the future they could almost taste wrenched from their grasp in a matter of hours. Worlds apart, suspended between hope and disillusion as hours become days become weeks, Sama and Hadi yearn for a way back to each other, and to the life they'd dreamed up together. But does that life exist anymore? Was it only ever an illusion? Achingly intimate yet poignantly universal, No Land to Light On is the story of a family caught on either side of a border, fighting for freedom and home, finding both in each other, and in the tenacious faith of creatures who take flight"--
