(Donatella Di Filippo) Daniela Troina Magrì, siciliana, cinquantenne, vive a Roma col marito Piero. Svolge le attività di ingegnere come consulente di Direzione, e di artista. Impegnata anche in numerosi progetti sul dialogo interculturale e sul mentoring, è autrice e direttore scientifico del progetto LEALMENTE e membro della task force internazionale sul Mentoring della BPW. Nel 2009, anno europeo della Creatività e dell'Innovazione, ha organizzato il Convegno "Creatività per l'innovazione". Si è laureata in Ingegneria a 21 anni e ha conseguito l'MBA alla Bocconi. Nei 25 anni di attività manageriale ha ricoperto incarichi in Italia ed all'estero in diversi settori del business (incluso il ruolo di AD della Finanziaria IBM). Ha ricevuto nel 2003 il premio come migliore donna manager europea dalla EWA e nel 2005 il Premio Internazionale "I Grandi della Sicilia". Da sempre appassionata d'arte, nel 2009 ha conseguito la laurea all'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Roma in pittura. Premiata artista, è presente in prestigiosi cataloghi di arte contemporanea ed ha esposto in varie collettive e personali di pittura. Tra le più recenti mostre personali di pittura"Scritte d'acqua"(Venezia 2008), "Luci" (Roma 2009), "Joyeux Noel" (Parigi 2009). Who were the first celebrity couples? How was their success forged? Which forces influenced their self-fashioning and marketing strategies? These questions are at the core of this study, which looks at the birth of a phenomenon, that of the couple in show business, with a focus on the promotional strategies devised by two professional performers: Giovan Battista Andreini (1576–1654) and Virginia Ramponi (1583–ca.1631). This book examines their artistic path – a deliberately crafted and mutually beneficial joint career – and links it to the historical, social, and cultural context of post-Tridentine Italy. Rooted in a broad research field, encompassing theatre history, Italian studies, celebrity studies, gender studies, and performance studies, The Theatre Couple in Early Modern Italy revises the conventional view of the Italian diva, investigates the deployment of Catholic devotion as a marketing tool, and argues for the importance of the couple system in the history of Commedia dell’Arte, a system that continues to shape celebrity today.

During the Italian Renaissance, dozens of early modern writers published collections of private correspondence, using them as vehicles for self-presentation, self-promotion, social critique, and religious dissent. Writing Gender in Women's Letter Collections of the Italian Renaissance examines the letter collections of women writers, arguing that these works were a studied performance of pervasive ideas about gender as well as genre, a form of self-fashioning that variously reflected, manipulated, and subverted cultural and literary conventions regarding femininity and masculinity. Meredith K. Ray presents letter collections from authors of diverse backgrounds, including a noblewoman, a courtesan, an actress, a nun, and a male writer who composed letters under female pseudonyms. Ray's study includes extensive new archival research and highlights a widespread interest in women's letter collections during the Italian Renaissance that suggests a deep curiosity about the female experience and a surprising openness to women's participation in this kind of literary production.
