This how to book covers the various mechanics of natural gas trading, including the physical (cash) market for natural gas production, transportation, distribution, and consumption. It has been 23 years since Trading Natural Gas: A Nontechnical Guide was released, and many things have changed: electronic trading, power market deregulation, fracking and the shale revolution, pipelines reversing flow patterns, and LNG exports from the United States. In this second edition, the author addresses these changes, beginning with a deeper dive into the natural gas market fundamentals of supply, demand, storage, and transportation, maintaining a focus on the relationship to market pricing. Following discussion of the mechanics of trading physical natural gas, the heart of the text remains a study of financial derivative products specific to natural gas trading, presented through definitions and trading examples. Many of these products and concepts are still current and have been refreshed and kept intact. New material on the role of natural gas in the power market as it relates to fuel- switching and economic dispatch, as well as a survey of the global LNG market and US exports, is included in this second edition to bring in two of the biggest factors influencing prices in today's market. Additional statistics, tables, graphs and suggested spreadsheet templates have been provided throughout the book to help visualize many of the discussions on data. Developing A Natural Gas Trading Hub In Asia written by Association internationale pour l'évaluation du rendement scolaire and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Electronic books categories.

Abstract: The trading of natural gas in the Asia-Pacific region is dominated by long-term contracts in which the price of gas is indexed to that of oil. As the price of gas between Asia and other parts of the world has widened in recent years, observers have raised serious doubts about the sustainability of this pricing model. In this report, the IEA shows what it would take to create a functional, regional natural-gas trading hub in which prices reflect the local supply and demand fundamentals. The report aims to provide stakeholders with insights on the changes that are required in the Asia-Pacific natural gas sector -- both downstream and upstream -- to allow a competitive natural gas price to emerge. Building on OECD Europe and OECD America experiences, this report sets out to assess perspectives for these changes in the Asia-Pacific natural gas markets. It identifies obstacles and opportunities for a competitive natural gas price in the Asian economies to emerge.

Energy Trading Hedging written by Tom Seng and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019 with Futures market categories.

This book focuses primarily on the energy products that are financially traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange: crude oil, natural gas, unleaded gasoline, and heating oil. These commodities are the most common ones used for hedging energy commodity risk. Each of these products has a profound effect on the United States and international economies. It discusses several of the factors that influence energy price direction, the financial instruments used in the market, and how commercial entities utilize these instruments to hedge the risks inherent in energy production and consumption, such as price and physical risk. It also addresses the use of energy financial derivatives strictly for profit (speculative trading) and the exchanges that make efficient and competitive trading possible. The physical cash market is addressed along with the major industry publications that produce market prices, known as postings or indexes. Additionally, the book briefly discusses technical analysis, using charts to identify price trends and predict directional changes. Finally, the book discusses the need for stringent controls on the trading of financial energy derivatives to avoid some of the more notorious pitfalls that have led to the collapse of major global companies and institutions.
