La especulación, el análisis y las evaluaciones de las hipótesis que se suceden en los estudios sobre traducción contribuyen a hacer de ésta una interdisciplina, fascinante en sí misma e instructiva para otros campos, por cuanto todo conocimiento se desarrolla con el concurso de diversas lenguas. Aunque el proceso de traducción de un texto hasta llegar a sus lectores es con frecuencia complejo y sólo parcialmente rastreable, sabemos que de hecho la transferencia se produce.
