Zeandra is a powerful, impacting novel that is written for readers who love captivating books. It is about the human drama behind Caribbean living. It is about a young girl's spiritual journey through trials, tribulations and ultimately, redemption. Zeandra is about a Caribbean village where skin drums rattled and old tribal dances brought joy to its people; where bamboo-cane lanterns spit flames towards the sky on Tambalay Nights and traditional customs were good. But signs in the universe warned that life was changing dramatically. The children of the village were getting tired of parental inconsistencies and things were beginning to fall apart. The village was getting too old to raise its children the way it used to. New ways were necessary to help elders communicate more effectively with youngsters. If not, youngsters would continue to lose their manners and disrespect for age would begin to grow like an ulcer where love once bloomed. Like all the great kingdoms of time gone by, the village was destroying itself from the inside. It was time for change. The story is set in Old Road, St. Kitts and Nevis. Old Road is a historical town. It was the first British settlement in the Caribbean, in 1623, making St. Kitts, the "mother colony" of the British West Indies, in 1624. The author, Caszie Hart, was born in Old Road. He attended college in New York and upon graduation earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics. While in college, although he was majoring in math, he had to take an art course as part of the core requirements for his degree. He took painting and was terrible at it, barely earning enough points to get a passing grade. However, in addition to math he loved English (both language and literature) and decided to do with words what he couldn't do with a brush, paint and canvas. Zeandra is the result of that endeavor. It is fiction. It is part of his dreams, fantasies and recollection of some early childhood events in Old Road. You are sure to enjoy it.

Escape From Paradise written by Kathleen M. Sands and has been published by Augsburg Fortress Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Literary Criticism categories.

With a sure and profound grasp of both the Christian tradition and the postmodern situation, Sands faults mainstream and feminist theologies for failing to recognize the inescapably tragic character of life. Her work is a strong and overt challenge to theology as usual and a call to theologians of all stripes to be ruthlessly honest in their religious reflections.

The shocking true story of the murder of 23–year–old Dana Ireland and the nine–year investigation that became Hawaii's most publicised murder case. By all accounts, 23–year–old Dana Ireland would have been successful at whatever she chose to do with her life. But she didn't get that chance. On Christmas Eve, 1991, this blonde–haired, blue–eyed young woman set off on her bicycle. As she was riding back to the holiday meal, three local youths decided to celebrate Christmas in a different way. They followed her in their car, then rammed her bike, kidnapped, raped, and beat her, and left her for dead on an isolated spot overlooking the ocean. In a community where many residents left their doors unlocked, people were shocked and terrified by this random, brutal act of violence. Worse still was that if the authorities hadn't taken so long to get to the victim, she might have lived. As months and years went by, frustration turned to outrage when police failed to arrest anyone for Dana's murder. But from his home in Springfield, Virginia, John Ireland started his own dogged investigation and crusade for justice. And nine years after his daughter's murder, after one of the most complicated cases the state had ever seen, three men were convicted. Here is a dramatic true story.
