Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) is part of a national movement to establish parks that are readily accessible to city-dwellers. After a vigorous grassroots campaign, Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area was signed into being by President Gerald Ford in December 1974 and in 2000 became Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
