Discover the Jesus who has been pursuing you since before time! Join an unforgettable journey through the birth, ministry, and death of the Messiah as found in the Old and New Testaments, and have your own life transforming experience. When reading the Bible we often miss essential details that add richness and significance, and therefore don't grasp the bigger picture. New York Times bestselling author Rabbi Jason, in his unique and engaging way, helps readers see God's story in high definition, enabling them to better understand the cultural and historical background of Scripture, God's intention for every detail, and how it applies to our lives. Revealing hidden gems of prophecy and promises, Transformed by the Messiah helps answer questions such as: Why does Genesis 3 talk about the "seed of a woman?" Is there any significance to the fact that Jesus was born in Bethlehem? Who are the shepherds and why was it important that the baby be found wrapped in swaddling cloth and laid in a manger? What does it mean to "live from the eight?" How does Messiah's baptism set an example for us to emulate and what did it undo? Why were the disciples so willing to immediately drop their nets, leave their families, and follow Jesus? Did the Messiah have to die on a cross and why did he not rise until the third day? You'll also learn how to respond with faith, not fear; trust God's plan, purpose, and provision; and move forward in the power of the Spirit. If you need hope, or simply a better understanding of God's plan of redemption for all mankind and your part in it, Transformed by the Messiah will open your heart and mind to be able to live in the supernatural power of God's Spirit as you follow Jesus and His command to make disciples. And whether you are Jewish or not, to help you read and study in a way that connects His story in the Old and New Testaments.

When many of us hear the word theology, we conjure up visions of stuffy old guys in dark clothing, scratching a pen across paper (or maybe a quill across parchment!) and assume that it's not for us. But at its most basic, theology is just words (logos) about God (theos). Conversations, if you will, about the most important part of our lives--our good, loving, and grace-filled God. With her signature style and humor, bestselling Bible teacher Lisa Harper invites you into this life-changing conversation. She makes theology fun, practical, and applicable, explaining how academic-sounding concepts--such as imago Dei, atonement, the Trinity, the transcendence and immanence of Christ, and much more--are actually daily realities that make an enormous difference in how we live our lives, how we treat other people, and how we understand our own relationship to our Creator. If you want to grow closer to God and take a more active role in your community of faith, it's time to take your understanding of God to the next level with sound theology rooted in Scripture. Let Lisa be your (very entertaining) guide!

Most of us have become accustomed to the constant preaching and teaching of guilt and condemnation. This slowly but surely pulls our eyes off of the loveliness of the finished work and onto the unfinished areas of our lives. We know that we are flawed; we don't need someone screaming at us to figure that out. Our problem is not the absence of knowledge that we need help. Rather, it is the utter inability to help ourselves. Calvary was God's intervention in all of our issues. By relieving us of the punishment of sin, He is freeing us from the weight of guilt and the fear of death. The author of Hebrews said that when Jesus died, He did so to "deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage" (Hebrews 2:15). Jesus has delivered us from fear of eternal punishment by being punished in our place!
