Tree Lattices written by Hyman Bass and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Mathematics categories.

This monograph extends this approach to the more general investigation of X-lattices, and these "tree lattices" are the main object of study. The authors present a coherent survey of the results on uniform tree lattices, and a (previously unpublished) development of the theory of non-uniform tree lattices, including some fundamental and recently proved existence theorems. Tree Lattices should be a helpful resource to researchers in the field, and may also be used for a graduate course on geometric methods in group theory.

This title provides a comprehensive examination of non-uniform lattices on uniform trees. Topics include graphs of groups, tree actions and edge-indexed graphs; $Aut(x)$ and its discrete subgroups; existence of tree lattices; non-uniform coverings of indexed graphs with an arithmetic bridge; non-uniform coverings of indexed graphs with a separating edge; non-uniform coverings of indexed graphs with a ramified loop; eliminating multiple edges; existence of arithmetic bridges. This book is intended for graduate students and research mathematicians interested in group theory and generalizations.

Computing And Investigations For Everyone written by Eamon Doherty and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-09 with Computers categories.

This "Everyone" book attempts to the guide the reader through the more essential steps of understanding the basic principles or elements that constitute the daily work of investigators in fields relating to computing and electrical loss. The chapter's are meant to set a foundation for people who may want to enter the field of investigations, or are at the beginning of a career in the area, or are seasoned investigators looking to delve into more contemporary areas of investigations, or for persons that are just interested in reading about matters or topics that are currently revealed in differing forms of media, such as in the successful TV drama series "CSI." The book is formatted sequentially so that the reader can review important legal matters that are a part of most investigations and then go on to peruse the elements of basic electrical principles as they apply to certain types of fire and fault losses. These beginning chapters set a broad stage for the various areas of computing that follow. The book does not necessarily have to be read in the order that it was written. In a sense, the reader may choose to use the book as a reference book. The chapters were written, for the most part, to be able to stand alone, as monographs. There are many chapters that review a broad range of more common topics and there are chapters concerned with more esoteric areas of computing and electronics. Some of these chapters discuss the high-tech methods that are sometimes deployed by thieves, terrorists, pedophiles, stalkers, etc. All of the co-authors reflect their experience as individuals that work closely with the criminal justice and civil institutions.

Optimal Interconnection Trees In The Plane written by Marcus Brazil and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-04-13 with Mathematics categories.

This book explores fundamental aspects of geometric network optimisation with applications to a variety of real world problems. It presents, for the first time in the literature, a cohesive mathematical framework within which the properties of such optimal interconnection networks can be understood across a wide range of metrics and cost functions. The book makes use of this mathematical theory to develop efficient algorithms for constructing such networks, with an emphasis on exact solutions. Marcus Brazil and Martin Zachariasen focus principally on the geometric structure of optimal interconnection networks, also known as Steiner trees, in the plane. They show readers how an understanding of this structure can lead to practical exact algorithms for constructing such trees. The book also details numerous breakthroughs in this area over the past 20 years, features clearly written proofs, and is supported by 135 colour and 15 black and white figures. It will help graduate students, working mathematicians, engineers and computer scientists to understand the principles required for designing interconnection networks in the plane that are as cost efficient as possible.

Geometry Rigidity And Group Actions written by Robert J. Zimmer and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-04-15 with Mathematics categories.

The study of group actions is more than 100 years old but remains a widely studied topic in a variety of mathematic fields. A central development in the last 50 years is the phenomenon of rigidity, whereby one can classify actions of certain groups. This book looks at rigidity.

Topology And Geometric Group Theory written by Michael W. Davis and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-09-14 with Mathematics categories.

This book presents articles at the interface of two active areas of research: classical topology and the relatively new field of geometric group theory. It includes two long survey articles, one on proofs of the Farrell–Jones conjectures, and the other on ends of spaces and groups. In 2010–2011, Ohio State University (OSU) hosted a special year in topology and geometric group theory. Over the course of the year, there were seminars, workshops, short weekend conferences, and a major conference out of which this book resulted. Four other research articles complement these surveys, making this book ideal for graduate students and established mathematicians interested in entering this area of research.

Equidistribution And Counting Under Equilibrium States In Negative Curvature And Trees written by Anne Broise-Alamichel and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-16 with Mathematics categories.

This book provides a complete exposition of equidistribution and counting problems weighted by a potential function of common perpendicular geodesics in negatively curved manifolds and simplicial trees. Avoiding any compactness assumptions, the authors extend the theory of Patterson-Sullivan, Bowen-Margulis and Oh-Shah (skinning) measures to CAT(-1) spaces with potentials. The work presents a proof for the equidistribution of equidistant hypersurfaces to Gibbs measures, and the equidistribution of common perpendicular arcs between, for instance, closed geodesics. Using tools from ergodic theory (including coding by topological Markov shifts, and an appendix by Buzzi that relates weak Gibbs measures and equilibrium states for them), the authors further prove the variational principle and rate of mixing for the geodesic flow on metric and simplicial trees—again without the need for any compactness or torsionfree assumptions. In a series of applications, using the Bruhat-Tits trees over non-Archimedean local fields, the authors subsequently prove further important results: the Mertens formula and the equidistribution of Farey fractions in function fields, the equidistribution of quadratic irrationals over function fields in their completions, and asymptotic counting results of the representations by quadratic norm forms. One of the book's main benefits is that the authors provide explicit error terms throughout. Given its scope, it will be of interest to graduate students and researchers in a wide range of fields, for instance ergodic theory, dynamical systems, geometric group theory, discrete subgroups of locally compact groups, and the arithmetic of function fields.
