"Once there was a tree...and she loved a little boy." So begins a story of unforgettable perception, beautifully written and illustrated by the gifted and versatile Shel Silverstein. This moving parable for all ages offers a touching interpretation of the gift of giving and a serene acceptance of another's capacity to love in return. Every day the boy would come to the tree to eat her apples, swing from her branches, or slide down her trunk...and the tree was happy. But as the boy grew older he began to want more from the tree, and the tree gave and gave and gave. This is a tender story, touched with sadness, aglow with consolation. Shel Silverstein's incomparable career as a bestselling children's book author and illustrator began with Lafcadio, the Lion Who Shot Back. He is also the creator of picture books including A Giraffe and a Half, Who Wants a Cheap Rhinoceros?, The Missing Piece, The Missing Piece Meets the Big O, and the perennial favorite The Giving Tree, and of classic poetry collections such as Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Light in the Attic, Falling Up, Every Thing On It, Don't Bump the Glump!, and Runny Babbit. Most of us have heard the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and WHAT they did? Even more importantly, what Eve DID with the serpent, but not WHY she did it and WHY the serpent targeted her? In this book we talk about the "WHY" and the purpose behind this happening to her. Who is the woman and why her? She has been chosen for a far greater purpose than what we've seen. She has a much-needed voice to be heard. It's time to hear all sides of the story and for her to tell her side. She has the right to be heard, and not just "Be Silent!" She will be vindicated for all the right reasons. There's a much bigger picture here and a story that must be told! The enemy has proven from the beginning how much he hates marriage, love, unity and family. It's not by chance we have such an attack on the family structure. The first thing the devil did, was to divide Eve and Adam. God adds and multiplies, while this enemy subtracts and divides. God gives life, the relationship and family, the enemy takes life, the relationship and the family. Divorce and chaos are on the rise. This enemy is after your covenant, joy and peace. The enemy understands the woman has been given the power (glory) to give life, to build relationships and he targeted her to tear down her life and to help him build his kingdom. How long will the woman be silent? War or peace starts in the household before it hits the community, nation and ultimately the world. World wars started in a thought...the mind...in a room. Satan is going for the mind. We're on the brink of something much greater than we may care to admit, or acknowledgment, but it's here! With record breaking numbers, even in a pandemic! Women are becoming the new face to leaders of this modern world in which we live. To ignore facts, of a power much greater than her own that's driving her, we would be foolish, to say the least. It's as though something is in a hurry to establish her in power. She has come so far, but still, there's so much more work to do. In this book are some acknowledgments of Great Women Achievements throughout history. Amazingly, throughout history she has been the target for rejection and abuse. While being the "Apple of God's Eye" she's still just an "Object" of someone else's desire. Woman you have come a long way, it's your time. Know your place! Don't allow anyone to use you as steps for only them to rise, leaving you down and under. The Woman is Lucifer's replacement! The greatest work God has ever done is hidden in her because she was made to produce. It is that creation! "God's Masterpiece" from heaven! She is destined for greatness she always has been. Now, we are seeing the fulfillment of prophesy of her being put in her proper place to lead. Which is above and not beneath. We are in desperate need for Great Leadership. Man has always tried to put her in her place according to what they thought that might be BUT God always had a place for her. From, the beginning God created her from greatness for greatness. This SPECIAL EDITION will highlight some of the events stemming from COVID-19 and its variants. We are all challenged to embrace a new normal because what used to be normal regrettably has become nothing more than a memory. History has proven that we are more receptable of change when we face tragedy. God has always been with us. Let "Why I Satan Hate The Woman" take you on a journey.

Squirrel Hill written by Mark Oppenheimer and has been published by National Geographic Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-10-05 with Social Science categories.

A piercing portrait of the struggles and triumphs of one of America's renowned Jewish neighborhoods in the wake of unspeakable tragedy that highlights the hopes, fears, and tensions all Americans must confront on the road to healing. Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, is one of the oldest Jewish neighborhoods in the country, known for its tight-knit community and the profusion of multigenerational families. On October 27, 2018, a gunman killed eleven Jews who were worshipping at the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill--the most deadly anti-Semitic attack in American history. Many neighborhoods would be understandably subsumed by despair and recrimination after such an event, but not this one. Mark Oppenheimer poignantly shifts the focus away from the criminal and his crime, and instead presents the historic, spirited community at the center of this heartbreak. He speaks with residents and nonresidents, Jews and gentiles, survivors and witnesses, teenagers and seniors, activists and historians. Together, these stories provide a kaleidoscopic and nuanced account of collective grief, love, support, and revival. But Oppenheimer also details the difficult dialogue and messy confrontations that Squirrel Hill had to face in the process of healing, and that are a necessary part of true growth and understanding in any community. He has reverently captured the vibrancy and caring that still characterize Squirrel Hill, and it is this phenomenal resilience that can provide inspiration to any place burdened with discrimination and hate.

Heart-breaking, hopeful and horrifying, I Shall Not Hate is a Palestinian doctor's inspiring account of his extraordinary life, growing up in poverty but determined to treat his patients in Gaza and Israel regardless of their ethnic origin. A London University- and Harvard-trained Palestinian doctor who was born and raised in the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip and 'who has devoted his life to medicine and reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians' (New York Times), Abuelaish is an infertility specialist who lives in Gaza but works in Israel. On the strip of land he calls home (where 1.5 million Gazan refugees are crammed into a few square miles) the Gaza doctor has been crossing the lines in the sand that divide Israelis and Palestinians for most of his life - as a physician who treats patients on both sides of the line, as a humanitarian who sees the need for improved health and education for women as the way forward in the Middle East. And, most recently, as the father whose three daughters were killed by Israeli shells on 16 January 2009, during Israel's incursion into the Gaza Strip. It was his response to this tragedy that made news and won him humanitarian awards around the world. Instead of seeking revenge or sinking into hatred, Izzeldin Abuelaish called for the people in the region to start talking to each other. His deepest hope is that his daughters will be 'the last sacrifice on the road to peace between Palestinians and Israelis'.

Perspectives On Hate written by Robert J. Sternberg and has been published by American Psychological Association (APA) this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020 with Psychology categories.

With hate crimes on the rise, it is more important than ever to understand how hate originates, develops, manifests, and spreads--and how it can be counteracted. In this book, renowned psychologist Robert J. Sternberg assembles a diverse group of experts to examine these central issues from the perspectives of multiple disciplines. The book is anchored by Sternberg's FLOTSAM theory, which identifies key conditions that enable the development and transmission of hate, including fear, license, obedience to authority, trust, sense of belonging to a valued group, amplification of arousal, and modeling. Chapters work through various manifestations of hate: hate as a thought, a feeling, or an action; forms of hate that are rooted in group bias, or that stem from a single relationship; and hate that varies in intensity, from the mundane to the extreme. Authors also explore the various cognitive and emotional processes at work, as well as the political motivations that can spark violent acts of hate. The book also considers the role of hate crime legislation and the relationships among hate speech, free speech, and group violence.

Akan Ashanti Folktales written by R. S Rattray and has been published by Prince Sarfo-Adu this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-08-23 with Juvenile Fiction categories.

This is a collection of 75 Ashanti tales recorded in the Ashanti and Kwawu areas of Ghana. Each folktale in Twi/Akan dialect of the Tshi language, is followed by an English translation. The English translation is, throughout, made as nearly literal as possible.(At this point, one meets a certain difficulty in a conflict between a desire for accuracy and an endeavour to give a translation acceptable to English ears). First published in 1930 by R.S. Rattray, this edition features a modern Akan/Twi orthography with a brief introduction to the Language. Ashanti folktales often tell a moral lesson, describe a myth, or answer a question about the natural world. Most of the Ashanti tales use animal characters to represent human qualities such as jealousy, honesty, greed, and bravery. Ananse, the spider, is a trickster figure who appears in many of the Ashanti tales. With regard to the classification of these stories, it will be observed that the majority of them fall under one or other of the well-known headings: drolls and cumulative tales; apologues or tales with a moral; aetiological stories, accounting for physical characteristics in men and beasts, e.g. How the Leopard became Spotted; etymological tales, e.g. "How the Ram came to be called Odwanini". Each and all of the stories in this volume would, however, be classed by the Akan-speaking African under the generic title of “Anansesɛm” (Spider stories), whether the spider appeared in the tale or not.
