It specifically aims to: identify the key elements of a landscape-level tree species strategy, assess the implementation considerations for a landscape-level species strategy within the existing management framework, develop an analysis methodology for portraying the landscape-level species composition and distribution for natural and managed stands."--Document.

Selecting Native Plant Materials For Restoration Projects written by Bradford A. Withrow-Robinson and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Native plants for cultivation categories.

Restoration success depends on selecting appropriate plant materials. Choosing the S2rightS3 plant materials for a project is challenging and much more involved than just creating a list of native species. Sure, it means finding the right species from sources appropriate for a project site. But selection of plant materials (seedlings, cuttings or seed) should also be based on restoration objectives, site conditions and habitat, seed origin, and genetic foundation (number of parent plants). The latter two considerations (origin of seed collections and the genetic foundation) are often overlooked in restoration projects, but are necessary because using the appropriate genetic stock can help insure survival of the plants and protect local genetic resources. The purpose of this publication is to remind land managers and land owners of the importance of origin and genetic diversity in native plant material selection. Much of the discussion will focus on trees and shrubs because more research is available on transferring seed and propagating native woody plants than for herbaceous species. But the issues are valid for most plants, although approaches may vary according to their biology and natural history.
