Channel Coding Techniques For Wireless Communications written by K. Deergha Rao and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-11-22 with Mathematics categories.

This book discusses the latest channel coding techniques, MIMO systems, and 5G channel coding evolution. It provides a comprehensive overview of channel coding, covering modern techniques such as turbo codes, low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, space–time coding, polar codes, LT codes, and Raptor codes as well as the traditional codes such as cyclic codes, BCH, RS codes, and convolutional codes. It also explores MIMO communications, which is an effective method for high-speed or high-reliability wireless communications. It also examines the evolution of 5G channel coding techniques. Each of the 13 chapters features numerous illustrative examples for easy understanding of the coding techniques, and MATLAB-based programs are integrated in the text to enhance readers’ grasp of the underlying theories. Further, PC-based MATLAB m-files for illustrative examples are included for students and researchers involved in advanced and current concepts of coding theory.

Coding For Wireless Channels written by Ezio Biglieri and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-07-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Coding for Wireless Channels is an accessible introduction to the theoretical foundations of modern coding theory, with applications to wireless transmission systems. State-of-the-art coding theory is explained using soft (maximum-likelihood) decoding rather than algebraic decoding. Convolutional codes, trellis-coded modulation, turbo codes, and low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are also covered, with specific reference to the graphical structures through which they can be described and decoded (trellises and factor graphs). A special section is devoted to multiple-antenna systems and space-time codes. The author assumes that the reader has a firm grasp of the concepts usually presented in senior-level courses on digital communications, information theory, and random processes. Coding for Wireless Channels will serve as an advanced text for undergraduate and graduate level courses and as a reference for professionals in telecommunications.

Motivated by the rapid evolution of the consecutive generations of wireless communication systems this volume continues to provide an overview of the majority of single- and multi-carrier QAM techniques. Now fully revised and updated, with more than 300 pages of new material, this new edition presents the wide range of recent developments in the field and places particular emphasis on the family of coded modulation aided OFDM and CDMA schemes. In addition, it also includes a fully revised chapter on adaptive modulation and a new chapter characterizing the design trade-offs of adaptive modulation and space-time coding. Divided into four parts: Part I: commences with a historical perspective and classic schemes for the uninitiated Part II: offers a deep discourse on adaptive QAM arrangements that have found their way also into the 3G system's High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) mode Part III: details the advanced intricacies of adaptive versus space-time block- and trellis-coded OFDM and MC-CDMA Part IV: contains previously unpublished new research results. It commences with a theoretical chapter on the capacity of wireless channels. The discussions then continue by contriving sophisticated iterative coded modulation systems, such as TCM, TTCM, BICM, BICM-ID designed for turbo-detected QAM-based space-time coded OFDM and CDMA systems operating over wireless channels In summary, this volume amalgamates a comprehensive textbook with a deep research monograph on the topic of QAM, ensuring it has a wide-ranging appeal for both senior undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as practicing engineers and researchers.

Channel Coding In Communication Networks written by Alain Glavieux and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of the subject of channel coding. It starts with a description of information theory, focusing on the quantitative measurement of information and introducing two fundamental theorems on source and channel coding. The basics of channel coding in two chapters, block codes and convolutional codes, are then discussed, and for these the authors introduce weighted input and output decoding algorithms and recursive systematic convolutional codes, which are used in the rest of the book. Trellis coded modulations, which have their primary applications in high spectral efficiency transmissions, are then covered, before the discussion moves on to an advanced coding technique called turbocoding. These codes, invented in the 1990s by C. Berrou and A. Glavieux, show exceptional performance. The differences between convolutional turbocodes and block turbocodes are outlined, and for each family, the authors present the coding and decoding techniques, together with their performances. The book concludes with a chapter on the implementation of turbocodes in circuits. As such, anyone involved in the areas of channel coding and error correcting coding will find this book to be of invaluable assistance.

This book grew out of our research, industry consulting and con tinuing education courses. Turbo coding initially seemed to belong to a restricted research area, while now has become a part of the mainstream telecommu nication theory and practice. The turbo decoding principles have found widespread applications not only in error control, but in de tection, interference suppression and equalization. Intended for use by advanced students and professional engi neers, involved in coding and telecommunication research, the book includes both basic and advanced material. The chapters are se quenced so that the knowledge is acquired in a logical and progres sive way. The algorithm descriptions and analysis are supported by examples throughout the book. Performance evaluations of the presented algorithms are carried out both analytically and by sim ulations. Basic material included in the book has been taught to students and practicing professionals over the last four years in the form of senior undergraduate or graduate courses, lecture series and short continuing education courses.

Space Time Coding written by Branka Vucetic and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-06-02 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The capacity of wireless data communications is lagging behind demands due to unsatisfactory performance of the existing wireless networks, such as low data rates, low spectral efficiency and low quality of service. Space-time coding is an effective transmit diversity technique to combat fading in wireless communications. Space-time codes are a highly bandwidth-efficient approach to signalling within wireless communication that takes advantage of the spatial dimension by transmitting a number of data streams using multiple co-located antennas. There are various approaches to the coding structures, including space-time trellis coded modulation, space-time turbo codes and also layered architectures. The central issue in all these various coding structures is the exploitation of multipath effects in order to achieve very high spectral efficiencies. The spectral efficiencies of traditional wireless systems range between 1-5bps/sec/Hz but by using space-time techniques spectral efficiencies of 20-40bps/sec/Hz have been possible. Hence, space-time coding enables an increase in capacity by an order of magnitude. This is the main reason why space-time codes have been included in the standards for the third generation wireless communication systems and ultimately why Space-time Coding will be in great demand by individuals within industry and academia. The comprehensive understanding of space-time coding is essential in the implementation of 3G, and as the only title currently available, Space-Time Coding will be the standard text for Researchers, telecommunication engineers and network planners, academics and undergraduate/postgraduate students, telecommunications managers and consultants.
