Les étudiants de L1 sont soumis à un stress engendré par les difficultés d'adaptation à l'université et aux nouvelles responsabilités de jeunes adultes. Bien que l'incidence de divers problèmes somatiques (fatigue, migraines, mal de dos, ...), psychiques (état dépressif, idées suicidaires, ...) et comportementaux (conduites alimentaires, conduites addictives, ...) soit élevée dans cette population, les travaux consacrés au stress et à la santé chez les étudiants sont rares, transversaux et demeurent plus descriptifs qu'explicatifs. Le taux d'échec est également le plus élevé en 1ère année (environ 50%). Le modèle que nous avons adopté est multifactoriel, il intègre divers antécédents pouvant affecter les diverses issues considérées ici, qu'elles soient somatiques, psychologiques ou académiques. Afin de savoir si ce modèle inspiré du modèle transactionnel du stress apparaît pouvoir expliquer les différences des étudiants en matière de santé et de réussite universitaire, nous avons mené une étude longitudinale sur une cohorte de 556 étudiants de 1è année.
