As a man being in many relationships and around different types of love, whether good or bad, I have learned that love is not always what it seems to be. I have been with gold-diggers, women with baby daddy drama, women that hate men but are lonely, women that truly love you, or people that are just miserable and treat you like crap. Although as a man I've gone through all kinds of ups and downs, there are also many women that struggle with the same situations and maybe three times over. I've also met women who continue to deal with men whom abuse them on a daily basis, suffer from jealous husbands who stalk them, men who loved them to death, or emotionally control them to the extent that they can't even eat or think. When learning to love self, I seem to recognize individuals who either show unconditional love towards me or people who have a difficult time showing any kind of emotional love towards me at all. If we pay more attention, we would know that all love isn't glamorous and in order to recognize the true secret of love, we must first love ourselves instead of putting so much emphasis on loving others. Well I hope as you read my unique book of poems on love, you are also enjoying the roller-coaster ride as it takes you through the unexpected twists and turns of love that so many of us hide in our daily battle of love. For the women and men who have found that perfect love I wish you many years of happiness and for others still searching for that love in their heart, always stay positive that your heart has a uniqueness for that special someone who will appreciate you very much. So remember it is never too late to love yourself and to love others that are willing to love you back.

How To Be A Sister A Love Story With A Twist Of Autism written by Eileen Garvin and has been published by The Experiment, LLC this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-04-01 with Family & Relationships categories.

The first book by acclaimed author Eileen Garvin—her deeply felt, impeccably written memoir, How to Be a Sister will speak to siblings, parents, friends, and teachers of people with autism—and to anyone who sometimes struggles to connect with someone difficult or different. Eileen Garvin’s older sister, Margaret, was diagnosed with severe autism at age three. Growing up alongside Margaret wasn’t easy: Eileen often found herself in situations that were simultaneously awkward, hilarious, and heartbreaking. For example, losing a blue plastic hairbrush could leave Margaret inconsolable for hours, and a quiet Sunday Mass might provoke an outburst of laughter, swearing, or dancing. How to Be a Sister begins when Eileen, after several years in New Mexico, has just moved back to the Pacific Northwest, where she grew up. Being 1,600 miles away had allowed Eileen to avoid the question that has dogged her since birth: What is she going to do about Margaret? Now, Eileen must grapple with this question once again as she tentatively tries to reconnect with Margaret. How can she have a relationship with someone who can’t drive, send email, or telephone? What role will Eileen play in Margaret’s life as their parents age, and after they die? Will she remain in Margaret’s life, or walk away? A deeply felt, impeccably written memoir, How to Be a Sister will speak to siblings, parents, friends, and teachers of people with autism—and to anyone who sometimes struggles to connect with someone difficult or different.

From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing and Nowhere But Here comes a love story about a Craigslist “missed connection” post that gives two people a second chance at love fifteen years after they were separated in New York City. To the Green-eyed Lovebird: We met fifteen years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House. You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more. We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other. Yet, somehow, it all fell apart. We lost touch the summer after graduation when I went to South America to work for National Geographic. When I came back, you were gone. A part of me still wonders if I pushed you too hard after the wedding… I didn’t see you again until a month ago. It was a Wednesday. You were rocking back on your heels, balancing on that thick yellow line that runs along the subway platform, waiting for the F train. I didn’t know it was you until it was too late, and then you were gone. Again. You said my name; I saw it on your lips. I tried to will the train to stop, just so I could say hello. After seeing you, all of the youthful feelings and memories came flooding back to me, and now I’ve spent the better part of a month wondering what your life is like. I might be totally out of my mind, but would you like to get a drink with me and catch up on the last decade and a half? M

After a decade apart, childhood sweethearts reconnect by chance in New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren’s touching, romantic novel Love and Other Words…how many words will it take for them to figure out where it all went wrong? The story of the heart can never be unwritten. Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away. But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos—the first and only love of her life—the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy’s entire world—growing from her gangly bookish friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother...only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her. Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more—spending weekends and lazy summers together in a house outside of San Francisco devouring books, sharing favorite words, and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion. Although their memories are obscured by the agony of what happened that night so many years ago, Elliot will come to understand the truth behind Macy’s decade-long silence, and will have to overcome the past and himself to revive her faith in the possibility of an all-consuming love.

The family unit as we know it, is disintegrating before our eyes. Why is this an alarming problem? Because it is the family unit that shapes and molds us into the individuals that we are today. In this book I try to share with you not only my triumphs and successes but, my hardships and failures as well. Born into an Hispanic family, life has given me a unique perspective of the world around us. It has engulfed me with the good and bad of what our society has to offer. On the negative side, I have tried to dismiss the stereotyping that unavoidably is attached to my race. I have tried to overcome the prejudices that still linger today. On the positive side, I have learned to appreciate and respect the wonderful customs and traditions that my culture permeates. As an adolescent, my parents instilled in me the value of growing up in the Catholic faith. As an athlete, my father taught me the value of hard work, grit, and determination. As a teacher, my brother Doug, taught me the value of shaping and molding the minds of our youth. As a coach, I learned the values of being a man of integrity-adhering always to a code of moral conduct. "Be a man of your word," my father would always tell me. "Be a role model and be willing to lead by example." As a senior citizen, I have learned to appreciate the life that God has blessed me with. I ask you now, what defines you as an individual? How do you react to the ups and downs in your life? How will you navigate the twists and turns that life drops at your doorstep? Go forth and make a difference in the world!!!
