Meet two adorable piglets named Plumpkin and Penelope. They’re cunning, intelligent, and constantly thinking of ways to escape and find food, which unsurprisingly always comes their way. Back at the farm of their new owner, the two piglets are not content to stay in their nice new pen, and soon find a way out. After they get caught, the farmer mends their fence. But before long, they find another way out and then the real fun begins! It becomes a challenge between human and piglets: One trying to prevent escape, the others trying to escape, knowing that if they succeed, there will be a reward of food. Plumpkin and Penelope set their sights on the garden and the kitchen. But now that they’ve eaten so much, the piglets can no longer squeeze through the holes in the fence. Instead, they climb up the rails. Who will win this battle of wits?

The Pigs Of Pineapple Beach Anthology written by Dee Smith and has been published by Dog Ear Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-04 with categories.

The entertaining collection The Pigs of Pineapple Beach Anthology consists of two adventures: The Pig Who Saved Pineapple Beach and Mayor Percy Brings Purpose to Pineapple Beach, 38 colorful illustrations and messages for kids from five to 105. In The Pig Who Saved Pineapple Beach the reader nestles into a peninsula town between the Atlantic Ocean and a lagoon, where the pigs have been too busy working long hours at the Pineapple Factory to notice how trashed their beaches are. One day, our hero, Professor Patrick arrives with a desire to help the town return to the paradise it once was. "Rome wasn't built in a day" and the pigs need continuous encouragement to change things around. With Professor Patrick they just might succeed. Grab your glass of pineapple juice because another adventure is about to begin in the seaside town of Pineapple Beach. Our favorite pigs are still working too much at the Pineapple Factory and not spending enough time enjoying life. With a dose of healthy competition from the neighboring town of Porpoise City, Mayor Percy Brings Purpose to Pineapple Beach, delicately introduces new ideas of making and selling crafts as an alternative to the humdrum life of factory work. Uncertainty again dominates but Percy leads while the pigs hammer, saw, paint, and bake their way into a new lifestyle. Dee Smith's earliest memories were on her parents' grape vineyard outside of Forestville, NY, where hard work and respect of Mother Nature were rewarded. With the closest library a five mile walk in the snow, television as close as the next planet, and a computer a distant star, Dee and her two sisters entertained their baby brother with story-telling. Those days were the beginning of life filled with stories and illustrations. Dee's high energy and creativity led her first to art college and then to filling the position of art teacher in the New York Public school system.

The May Day Fair had been held on Honey Bee Meadow at the top of Bodmin Hill above Lostwithiel, Cornwall, for centuries. The local animals were horrified when a notice appeared that there was to be a housing estate built on the field, which would put an end to the fair. The animals came up with a plan to ambush the lorries carrying the building materials, with the help of the magic powers of Fairy Godmother Jude and Raspacious the Wicked Witch. There were some strange shops in Lostwithiel. One sold a special magic cream called Factor 21, which used ingredients from the Teardrop Tree in Lerryn Woods. The teardrops were collected by the strange white bunnies who could turn themselves black every time they sang in their choir, which was conducted by Fitbit, who played the organ and mended shoes in his little repair shop in town. Meanwhile, Scrundle, the scruffiest cat in Cornwall, falls in love with the beautiful Demelza and their destiny plays a part in the outcome of the story.

The Story Of Beatrix Potter written by Sarah Gristwood and has been published by National Trust this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-09 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

“Sumptuous...a fitting legacy for a pioneering conservationist who helped save thousands of acres of the Lake District” – The Mail on Sunday, August 2016 To this day, Beatrix Potter’s tales delight children and grown-ups around the world. But few people realise how extraordinary her own story is. She was a woman of contradictions. A sheltered Victorian daughter who grew into an astute modern businesswoman. A talented artist who became a scientific expert. A famous author who gave it all up to become a farmer. In The Story of Beatrix Potter, Sarah Gristwood follows the twists and turns of Beatrix Potter’s life and its key turning points – including her tragically brief first engagement and happy second marriage late in life. She traces the creation of Beatrix’s most famous characters – including the naughty Peter Rabbit, confused Jemima Puddleduck and cheeky Squirrel Nutkin – revealing how she drew on her unusual childhood pets and locations in her beloved Lake District. She explores too, the last 30 years of Potter’s life, when she abandoned books to become a working farmer and a pioneering conservationist, whose work with the National Trust helped to save thousands of acres of the Lake District – a legacy that, like her books, continues to enrich our lives today. Main text: 30,000 words. Approx 3,000 words for captions and index.
