The Ship of Theseus was one of, if not the, the first thought problem the author was ever taught. As a child he was absolutely infatuated with Greco-Roman mythology and read, without discernment, from D'Aulaire to Hamilton to Bullfinch. He considered the problem to be interesting, but had never connected it to magic in any meaningful way. Segue to late August/mid September of 2014, when the author watched the Doctor Who episode "Deep Breath" and was reminded of his love for the Ship of Theseus. It then occurred to him that the problem might be adaptable into a card routine. This book reveals the history of the plot and several solutions as it pertains to a card routine involving spectators.
