Diese Aussage hort man immer wieder von ehemaligen Schulern. Aber eigentlich ist ein Elternabend nicht dazu da, den Kindern Angst zumachen, sondern im Gegenteil: an so einem Abend werden wichtige Themen besprochen und Informationen ausgetauscht, die produktiv fur das Kind sind. Doch das Problem ist, dass die Kinder haufig nicht mit einbezogen werden und nicht wissen, was an einem Elternabend geschieht und besprochen wird. Viele Schuler denken, dass der Lehrer den Schuler bei den Erziehungsberechtigten anschwarzt und sie deswegen Arger bekommen . Genau das soll durch eine erfolgreiche Elternarbeit verhindert werden. Allerdings soll nicht nur die Kooperation zwischen Eltern und Lehrer stimmig sein, sondern auch zwischen Schuler und Lehrer, sowie Schuler und Eltern, denn es geht ja um das Wohl des Kindes. Um dies zu gewahrleisten, bedarf es jedoch eines Entgegenkommens beider Seiten: die der Eltern und die der Lehrer. An dem Begriff Erziehung" kann man dieses Miteinander erkennen: Denn darin steckt das Wort ziehen." im Idealfall ist es das Ziel der Elternarbeit, das beide Parteien in dieselbe Richtung ziehen. Das Kind erfahrt dadurch einen eindeutigen Weg, den es gehen soll um das gemeinsame Ziel zugig und erfolgreich zu meistern. Wie dieses gemeinsame Erziehen gelingen kann und welche Faktoren es unterdrucken wird in dieser Hausarbeit geklart.
