Come padre Mario Golesano, che è andato nel quartiere di Brancaccio a cercare di riempire il vuoto lasciato da don Pino Puglisi, ammazzato da un sicario al quale regalò il suo ultimo sorriso. E don Andrea Gallo, «gran cardinale della Basilica del Marciapiede», convinto come Fabrizio De Andrè che «dai diamanti non nasce niente, dal letame nascono i fi ori» e dunque deciso a portare il Vangelo tra i peccatori. Fino a don Oreste Benzi, che se n'è andato per un infarto nel novembre 2007 dopo avere speso tutte le sue notti a offrire una via d'uscita a migliaia di «Maddalene» che si vendevano nelle strade. Preti spesso scomodi. «Pretacci». Come il capostipite al quale un po' tutti dicono di richiamarsi: don Lorenzo Milani. Il parroco di Barbiana che incitava i pastori di anime a non aver timore di «star sui coglioni a tutti come sono stati i profeti innanzi e dopo Cristo».

La dipendenza non costituisce soltanto un problema clinico, ma nella storia dell’uomo si è sempre profilata come l’esito obbligato di una “relazione” e come un doppio-vincolo. Ciascuno è dipendente da qualcosa e da qualcuno e la nozione di “libertà”, al di là dei suoi vestimenti ideologici, è sempre relativa al venir meno di una dipendenza. Partendo da questi presupposti, Emiliano Bazzanella analizza diversi aspetti del fenomeno: dipendenza intesa come sistema sociale nel Medioevo, momento fondamentale nella costruzione dell’autocoscienza in Hegel, conflitto con l’altro in Sartre, disturbo mentale nella psicologia clinica, “debito” personale e statuale in economia, dispositivo di sicurezza in un contesto sociale. L’ipotesi di fondo è che essa svolga una primaria funzione immunitaria, riducendo le tensioni interne di una comunità ed equilibrando i rapporti tra gli individui e tra le nazioni. Tuttavia, come avviene sovente nei fenomeni sociali, anche questa modalità relazionale tende all’eccesso, trasformandosi in una patologia che investe la dimensione politica ed economica, nonché quella del soggetto.
