While there are many books that deal with Brandt's foreign policy as West German Chancellor, Willy Brandt and International Relations is the only book to deal with Brandt's politics as elder statesman between 1974 and 1992. The chapters follow Brandt beyond his resignation as Chancellor in 1974, after which he continued his position as chairman of Social Democratic party and became chairman of the Socialist International. He was keen on finding new partners in the 'Third World' such as Latin America and the Caribbean, leading to conflicts with the U.S. administration which caused problems for West German foreign policy. Metafísica es una palabra que nombra una forma de pensar cuyo origen está en la obra de Aristóteles que lleva ese título. Dicha forma proviene de la visión platónica. Ahí se inicia el curso de una disciplina intelectual que los griegos llamaron sabiduría, un pensar y un saber que articulará intelectualmente la cultura de Occidente. Es la filosofía. Descartes, en el mundo moderno, recoge esa tesis en sus Meditaciones Metafísicas desde la perspectiva cristiana abierta por San Agustín y Santo Tomás de Aquino. Este proceso no constituye un sistema, ni una simple organización de ideas; no es tampoco un corpus académico escolarizado. Es el renovado brotar de la vida de la inteligencia. No algo físico, sino metafísico. Por las obras mencionadas de Aristóteles, Descartes, Kant y Heidegger pasan los hitos del pensar metafísico, una figura histórica abierta al futuro. Este libro intenta recoger ese sentido y ser considerado como una “teoría”, tomando esta palabra de origen griego en su significación inicial, que habría contenido la idea de “peregrinación”. Este libro reúne una serie de artículos de investigadores que llevan más de diez años trabajando en la Historia de la democratización de América Latina contemporánea y que están vinculados, de distinta forma, a tareas de investigación realizadas conjuntamente por las universidades de Buenos Aires y de Salamanca (España), instituciones que presentan esta obra.
