“Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita”… potrei iniziare così, rubando il verso al cantore dei cantori, per spiegare come è nato questo lavoro. Questo libro è nato perché, amando l’hobby della scrittura (e i milioni di scrittori in erba mi capiranno) avevo voglia di scrivere. Quella voglia che si innesca da quando ti svegli al mattino e che ti segue per tutte le 12 ore nelle quali devi però svolgere il tuo vero lavoro e quindi non puoi farlo. Ma in ogni pausa, in ogni spostamento in auto tra un impegno e l’altro, la voglia di scrivere ti segue. Salvo poi arrivare a casa ed essere così stanco da dover rinunciare. Ma la voglia di scrivere va al di là della forza. E così la sera scrivevo. Volevo scrivere le cose belle della esistenza che mi avevano accompagnato negli anni della mia vita modenese. E così decisi di scrivere la storia della mia compagnia teatrale (Una vita in “compagnia”), perché è una storia davvero bella a da dover condividere almeno con amici e parenti, allargandomi a conoscenti e simpatizzanti. Poi l’amicizia con Carla, una nobildonna modenese, offrì lo spunto per descrivere le sue gesta di amore e di tolleranza verso il prossimo (Aspettando Sherin). Sopraggiunse un giorno alla mia attenzione la storia di Rita, una ragazza che aveva donato la sua vita per amore. Il suo racconto pervase la mia anima e decisi di trascriverlo (Ti cerco nel buio). E così la sera, quando riuscivo, scrivevo. Scrivevo, dedicandomi un po’ ad una storia e un po’ un’altra. Erano storie che nascevano da situazioni di vita vissuta, che facevo mie. Fin quando nell’estate del 2016, Anna non si ammala e la mia vita cambia radicalmente. Mi lascerà per sempre, stroncata da un male terribile poche settimane dopo. A quel punto non ho potuto fare a meno di descrivere, per quello che potevo, la grandezza della donna che mi ha donato quasi quarant’anni della sua vita. Nasceva il racconto “A regina dè criatur”, dedicato proprio ad Anna. E così il titolo di questa raccolta, che doveva essere “Sogni di una notte di mezza vita” diviene “sogni ed incubi…”, anche se in tutte le storie c’è sempre un immancabile splendido ed immortale filo conduttore che è l’amore.
