Researching and obtaining new information is a very crucial part of a wandering mind. Neil Armstrong very aptly said, “Researching is the process to create new knowledge.” It helps an individual in broadening their intellect base which in turn makes them a well-adjusted and informed member of society. This compilation titled ‘UgRIMM-2021’ is an effort by the department of Mass Media under the guidance of our dear Principal Dr.HemlataBagla to instill research value at an undergraduate level. It is a one-of-a-kind Research initiative that took place with the help of multiple online training sessions by in-house as well as external faculty. One hundred and thirty research papers were penned down independently by our second-year undergraduate students of the BAMMC course. Our main objective with UgRIMM was to instill a sense of curiosity and comfort surrounding the word ‘research’ instead of the telltale uncertainty students feel when the word is brought up. Our approach towards research coupled with frequent interactive sessions with experts in the field of research aimed to make our students better at the prospects of researching and writing research papers.

"Film Cultures is thought-provoking and challenging. By opening film theory up to the many simultaneous networks of relation (that is, the cultures) of film, it asks both viewer and student to take film more seriously." - Communication Research Trends "Film Cultures weaves together insights from cultural theory and film studies to provide a complex and absorbing theoretical account of contemporary film culture. Harbord writes with authority, imagination and wit and her delicate deployment of modernist and postmodernist cultural accounts makes rewarding reading." - Christine Geraghty, Professor of Film and Television, University of Glasgow Film Cultures argues that our tastes for film connect us to social, spatial and temporal networks of exchange and meaning. Whether we view film in the multiplex, arthouse or the gallery, as cinema premiere, video hire or from a cable channel, whether we approach film as a singular object or a hypertext linked to ancillary products, our relationship to film is inhabiting a culture. Shifting the focus of film analysis from the text to paths of circulation, Film Cultures questions how film connects us to social status, and national and global affiliations.

Co-published with and With the growing interest in undergraduate research as a high-impact practice, and the recognition that college education is increasingly moving online, this book – the first to do so – provides a framework, guidance from pioneering practitioners, and a range of examples across disciplines on how to engage remote students in research. Two foundational chapters set the scene. For those new to incorporating undergraduate research in their courses, the opening chapter provides an introduction to its evolution and practice, and reviews the evidence of its benefits for students, faculty, and institutions. The second addresses the benefit that undergraduate research can bring to online learning and provides an overview of the ways research can be incorporated into online and virtual courses to meet the course and student learning objectives. The remaining chapters illustrate implementation of undergraduate research in courses across many disciplines. They address thematic issues related to the work and its effects on students, such as transitioning them from users of, to active participants in, research; and consideration of the technological tools needed to support students in a virtual environment. The contributors, some of whom have been implementing these practices for some years, offer important insights and expertise. While the examples range across the behavioral sciences, business, education, the health professions, the humanities, social sciences, and STEM, readers will find much of value and inspiration from reading the chapters beyond their disciplines.
