'It has been slowly dawning on me over many years that there is a fundamental problem deep at the heart of Christian faith and practice as I have known them . . . we have all forgotten what the four Gospels are about.' With that surprising assertion, Tom Wright launches this ground-breaking work in which he helps us to see the gospel story in radically a new light, and to acknowledge that, for many generations, the Church has been avoiding its full impact and holding back from proclaiming its full meaning. 'Classic Wright: clear, accessible, robust, engaging and challenging.' Paula Gooder in Third Way 'Scholarly, accessible, insightful and provocative.' Christianity 'Wright argues compellingly that the twin themes of kingdom and cross are inseparably linked. . . This is a much-needed reorientation. The book makes its case for 'rethinking' cogently and deserves widespread attention.' Theology

Dr Francis S. Collins, head of the Human Genome Project, is one of the world's leading scientists, working at the cutting edge of the study of DNA, the code of life. Yet he is also a man of unshakable faith in God. How does he reconcile the seemingly unreconcilable? In THE LANGUAGE OF GOD he explains his own journey from atheism to faith, and then takes the reader on a stunning tour of modern science to show that physics, chemistry and biology -- indeed, reason itself -- are not incompatible with belief. His book is essential reading for anyone who wonders about the deepest questions of all: why are we here? How did we get here? And what does life mean?

Why is God's beauty often absent from our theology? Rarely do theologians take up the theme of God's beauty—even more rarely do they consider how God's beauty should shape the task of theology itself. But the psalmist says that the heart of the believer's desire is to behold the beauty of the Lord. In The Beauty of the Lord, Jonathan King restores aesthetics as not merely a valid lens for theological reflection, but an essential one. Jesus, our incarnate Redeemer, displays the Triune God's beauty in his actions and person, from creation to final consummation. How can and should theology better reflect this unveiled beauty? The Beauty of the Lord is a renewal of a truly aesthetic theology and a properly theological aesthetics.

The kingdom of God and the atonement are two of the most important themes in all of Scripture. Tragically, theologians have often either set the two at odds or focused on one to the complete neglect of the other. In The Crucified King, Jeremy Treat demonstrates that Scripture presents a mutually enriching relationship between the kingdom and atonement that draws significantly from the story of Israel and culminates in the crucifixion of Christ the king. As Israel’s messiah, he holds together the kingdom and the cross by bringing God’s reign on earth through his atoning death. The kingdom is the ultimate goal of the cross, and the cross is the means by which the kingdom comes. Jesus’ death is not the failure of his messianic ministry, nor simply the prelude to his royal glory, but is the apex of his kingdom mission. The cross is the throne from which he rules and establishes his kingdom. Using a holistic approach that brings together the insights of biblical and systematic theology, this book demonstrates not only that the kingdom and the cross are inseparable, but how they are integrated in Scripture and theology.

The Kingdom Reformation written by Derek Morphew and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-16 with categories.
The Kingdom Reformation is the third in a trilogy on the kingdom of God: the mission and message of Jesus. The other two publications are Breakthrough: Discovering the Kingdom (a biblical theology) and Demonstrating the Kingdom (a practical theology). The trilogy forms the core of a larger project on kingdom theology which Derek Morphew has been developing over decades. It traces the roots of kingdom theology to four key factors that have emerged in the post Second World War era. They are, 1. The discovery and availability of the literature of Second Temple Judaism (the Dead Sea Scrolls, 1947).2. The post holocaust review of Protestantism and the emergence of a Jewish-Christian dialogue.3. The shift from modernism to postmodernism, leading to a review of the historical method as applied to the New Testament.4. The consensus position of inaugurated eschatology, namely that Jesus taught that the kingdom of God was both future (apocalyptic, or end of the age) and present in his ministry. These four factors have led to the emergence of a fresh departure in the long history of Christian theology, which is so fundamental (like a Reformation) that everything must be reviewed. To rediscover Jesus is to review the entire history of theology, including orthodoxy and the Reformation, without rejecting either of them. While this fresh departure is growing and widely represented today, applying kingdom theology to mission and praxis has taken place particularly in the post-Wimber charismatic or "third wave" tradition, in a number of young and growing missional and church planting movement.
