Under det svenska ordförandeskapet i Nordiska ministerrådet år 2013 har Sverige fördjupat det nordiska regeringssamarbetet kring några av de stora framtidsutmaningar som är gemensamma för Norden. En viktig framtidsutmaning är att få fler unga i arbete. Ungdomsarbetslösheten är en utmaning för samtliga nordiska länder, men erfarenheterna och åtgärderna skiljer sig åt. Under ordförandeskapsåret har det därför skett ett brett kunskapsutbyte mellan de nordiska länderna om hur ungdomars inträde i arbetslivet kan underlättas. En del i kunskapsutbytet om ungas arbetsmarknadssituation skedde under ett nordiskt arbetsmarknadsmöte den 16 maj 2013 i Stockholm. Vid mötet utbytte bl.a. de nordiska stats- och arbetsmarknadsministrarna erfarenheter och diskuterade ungdomars situation på arbetsmarknaden. Inför erfarenh etsutbytet på mötet togs ett statistiskt jämförande översiktsunderlag över ungas situation på arbetsmarkanden i de nordiska länderna fram. Denna rapport bygger på det bakgrundsmaterialet och i rapporten redovisas figurerna och tabeller.

Vocational Education in the Nordic Countries: Learning from Diversity is the second of two books that disseminates new and systematic knowledge on the strengths and weaknesses of the different models of vocational education and training (VET) in four Nordic countries. Vocational education in Europe has resisted standardisation to a higher degree than other fields of education, and during the last decade, there has been a growth in international, comparative VET research. While the Nordic countries provide an ideal case for comparative education studies, the literature in English on the Nordic VET systems is at present very limited. This book provides thorough examinations of VET in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Each section examines the current challenges for VET, compares how these challenges are managed, and explores recent reforms and institutional innovations. Contributors also analyse institutions and policies at the national level and include comparative studies of two occupations at the micro-level in the four countries. The book explores what can be learned from the diversity of the VET systems in the Nordic countries, which otherwise have many similarities and share a common heritage in education policy. This volume will help strengthen the knowledge base required for transnational policy learning, and for developing vocational education internationally for the future. As a result, the book will be of interest to researchers, academics and postgraduate students involved in the study of vocational education, educational studies and educational policy, as well as policy makers.

Rapporten innehåller: • En kartläggning som belyser nationella förhållanden, teman och insatsområden som är i fokus på nationell nivå, • Resultatet av konsultationsprocess som inkluderat civilsamhällsorganisationer, myndigheter och andra aktörer i Norden som arbetar för lika rättigheter för LGBTI-personer • En analys och rekommendationer baserade på kartläggningen och konsultationen. More Nordic citizens face economic vulnerability today than ten years ago, and in several of the Nordic countries the gap between rich and poor has increased. The growing number of children living in poverty is particularly serious, as is the fact that many pensioners, especially women, are living in economic hardship. It is therefore necessary to consider all stages of life in order to more effectively tackle poverty. This knowledge base describes economic vulnerability through all phases of life and shows the conditions of different groups. It also addresses economic violence in different forms, the consequences for victims and the need for support structures The report has been produced by Nordic Information on Gender (NIKK) a co-operative body under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
