An Introduction To Harmonic Analysis On Semisimple Lie Groups written by V. S. Varadarajan and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-07-22 with Mathematics categories.

Now in paperback, this graduate-level textbook is an introduction to the representation theory of semi-simple Lie groups. As such, it will be suitable for research students in algebra and analysis, and for research mathematicians requiring a readable account of the topic. The author emphasizes the development of the central themes of the sunject in the context of special examples, without losing sight of its general flow and structure. The book concludes with appendices sketching some basic topics with a comprehensive guide to further reading.

Introduction To Banach Algebras Operators And Harmonic Analysis written by H. Garth Dales and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-11-13 with Mathematics categories.

This work has arisen from lecture courses given by the authors on important topics within functional analysis. The authors, who are all leading researchers, give introductions to their subjects at a level ideal for beginning graduate students, and others interested in the subject. The collection has been carefully edited so as to form a coherent and accessible introduction to current research topics. The first chapter by Professor Dales introduces the general theory of Banach algebras, which serves as a background to the remaining material. Dr Willis then studies a centrally important Banach algebra, the group algebra of a locally compact group. The remaining chapters are devoted to Banach algebras of operators on Banach spaces: Professor Eschmeier gives all the background for the exciting topic of invariant subspaces of operators, and discusses some key open problems; Dr Laursen and Professor Aiena discuss local spectral theory for operators, leading into Fredholm theory.

The series is devoted to the publication of monographs and high-level textbooks in mathematics, mathematical methods and their applications. Apart from covering important areas of current interest, a major aim is to make topics of an interdisciplinary nature accessible to the non-specialist. The works in this series are addressed to advanced students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics. In addition, it can serve as a guide for lectures and seminars on a graduate level. The series de Gruyter Studies in Mathematics was founded ca. 30 years ago by the late Professor Heinz Bauer and Professor Peter Gabriel with the aim to establish a series of monographs and textbooks of high standard, written by scholars with an international reputation presenting current fields of research in pure and applied mathematics. While the editorial board of the Studies has changed with the years, the aspirations of the Studies are unchanged. In times of rapid growth of mathematical knowledge carefully written monographs and textbooks written by experts are needed more than ever, not least to pave the way for the next generation of mathematicians. In this sense the editorial board and the publisher of the Studies are devoted to continue the Studies as a service to the mathematical community. Please submit any book proposals to Niels Jacob.

Aspects Of Representation Theory And Noncommutative Harmonic Analysis written by Jean H Gallier and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-01-17 with Mathematics categories.

This book presents the theory of harmonic analysis for noncommutative compact groups. If G is a commutative locally compact group, there is a well-understood theory of harmonic analysis as discussed in Aspects of Harmonic Analysis on Locally Compact Abelian Groups. If G is not commutative, things are a lot tougher. In the special case of a compact group, there is a deep interplay between analysis and representation theory which was first discovered by Hermann Weyl and refined by Andre Weil. This book presents these seminal results of Weyl and Weil.Starting with the basics of representations theory, it presents the famous Peter-Weyl theorems and discusses Fourier analysis on compact groups. This book also introduces the reader to induced representations of locally compact groups, induced representations of G-bundles, and the theory of Gelfand pairs. A special feature is the chapter on equivariant convolutional neural networks (CNNs), a chapter which shows how many of the abstract concepts of representations, analysis on compact groups, Peter-Weyl theorems, Fourier transform, induced representations are used to tackle very practical, modern-day problems.

Representation Theory Of Semisimple Groups written by Anthony W. Knapp and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-02 with Mathematics categories.

In this classic work, Anthony W. Knapp offers a survey of representation theory of semisimple Lie groups in a way that reflects the spirit of the subject and corresponds to the natural learning process. This book is a model of exposition and an invaluable resource for both graduate students and researchers. Although theorems are always stated precisely, many illustrative examples or classes of examples are given. To support this unique approach, the author includes for the reader a useful 300-item bibliography and an extensive section of notes.

The lectures from a course in the representation theory of semi- simple groups, automorphic forms, and the relations between them. The purpose is to help analysts make systematic use of Lie groups in work on harmonic analysis, differential equations, and mathematical physics; and to provide number theorists with the representation-theoretic input to Wiles's proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. Begins with an introductory treatment of structure theory and ends with the current status of functionality. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
