Unique in its field, this book uses a methodology that is entirely new, creating the simplest and most abstract foundations for physics to date. The author proposes a fundamental description of process in a universal computational rewrite system, leading to an irreducible form of relativistic quantum mechanics from a single operator. This is not only simpler, and more fundamental, but also seemingly more powerful than any other quantum mechanics formalism available. The methodology finds immediate applications in particle physics, theoretical physics and theoretical computing. In addition, taking the rewrite structure more generally as a description of process, the book shows how it can be applied to large-scale structures beyond the realm of fundamental physics. Sample Chapter(s). Chapter 1: Zero (228 KB). Contents: Zero; Why Does Physics Work?; The Emergence of Physics; Groups and Representations; Breaking the Dirac Code; The Dirac Nilpotent; Nonrelativistic Quantum Mechanics and the Classical Transition; The Classical and Special Relativistic Approximations; The Resolution of Paradoxes; Electric, Strong and Weak Interactions; QED and Its Analogues; Vacuum; Fermion and Boson Structures; A Representation of Strong and Weak Interactions; Grand Unification and Particle Masses; The Factor 2 and Duality; Gravity and Inertia; Dimensionality, Strings and Quantum Gravity; Nature''s Code; Nature''s Rule; Infinity. Since the time of the Greek philosopher Zeno (fifth century BCE), our faculty of analytic understanding has failed to comprehend motion through the ages. The reason is the paradox or contradiction associated with motion. One fundamental contradiction is the conflict between the finite body and the infinite divisibility of the unit distance ab. Indeed, how is it possible to move from a to b if we must first pass through an infinite series of sub-distances in one instant? How can we traverse an unlimited series—a series without limit—yet reach its limit? Because the heart of the problem is the conflict between the finite and the infinite, its solution depends on reconciling this contradiction and transforming this reconciliation into the founding principle of motion. Having accomplished these two things, this work investigates the sweeping consequences they have regarding the geometric form of the physical universe, the Aristotelian ontology of the physical body, the nature of our finite brain, the finite analytic paradigm of empirical science and the meaning of our technological acceleration. This book will appeal to a wide range of readers with interests in the logical mechanics of the physical universe, the hidden powers of our finite brain, and the utility of robots in the future. Although some of the presentation requires the understanding of elementary mathematical equations, the argument is conducted at the deepest level: that of principles. This approach enables readers to follow the book’s reasoning without technical training on the subject. An Introduction To Kolmogorov Complexity And Its Applications written by Ming Li and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-04-18 with Computers categories.

With this book, the authors are trying to present in a unified treatment an introduction to the central ideas and their applications of the Kolmogorov Complexity, the theory dealing with the quantity of information in individual objects. This book is appropriate for either a one- or two-semester introductory course in departments of computer science, mathematics, physics, probability theory and statistics, artificial intelligence, and philosophy. Although the mathematical theory of Kolmogorov complexity contains sophisticated mathematics, the amount of math one needs to know to apply the notions in widely divergent areas, is very little. The authors' purpose is to develop the theory in detail and outline a wide range of illustrative applications. This book is an attempt to grasp the mass of fragmented knowledge of this fascinating theory. Chapter 1 is a compilation of material on the diverse notations and disciplines we draw upon in order to make the book self-contained. The mathematical theory of Kolmogorov complexity is treated in chapters 2-4; the applications are treated in chapters 4-8.

Inductive Logic is number ten in the 11-volume Handbook of the History of Logic. While there are many examples were a science split from philosophy and became autonomous (such as physics with Newton and biology with Darwin), and while there are, perhaps, topics that are of exclusively philosophical interest, inductive logic — as this handbook attests — is a research field where philosophers and scientists fruitfully and constructively interact. This handbook covers the rich history of scientific turning points in Inductive Logic, including probability theory and decision theory. Written by leading researchers in the field, both this volume and the Handbook as a whole are definitive reference tools for senior undergraduates, graduate students and researchers in the history of logic, the history of philosophy, and any discipline, such as mathematics, computer science, cognitive psychology, and artificial intelligence, for whom the historical background of his or her work is a salient consideration. - Chapter on the Port Royal contributions to probability theory and decision theory - Serves as a singular contribution to the intellectual history of the 20th century - Contains the latest scholarly discoveries and interpretative insights

Considering the concept of parallel universes originating and structured from the Main Universe, even on an intellectual basis, it can be calculated at least how many parallel universes there are. It can be accepted that the same living and non-living things live at a different time in each parallel universe. In this case, if a living creature is considered to live for a maximum of 150 years, in line with today's knowledge and conditions, and if the difference between different time periods is considered to be 1 second, the following result can be obtained. (150 x 365 x 24 x 60 x 60) The result of this process shows how many seconds 150 years are. In this case, it can be calculated that there are at least 4,730,400,000 parallel universes. In addition, with a calculation, it can be determined when the parallel universes will be completely free of living things or when the living things will die, and this can give an idea about when the apocalypse will occur. For this, the following information is required: the number of all living things should not increase, but should stop and go backwards, that is, enter into a process of decrease. For example, if the rate of increase in living beings is 0% after (m) years and the number of living beings at that moment (human, animal, plant, etc.) is accepted as (n) and one living creature among these living beings lives for a maximum of (k) years, then the intellectual Basically, we can say that the apocalypse may happen in the year (2024 + m + n + 2k). (On an A.D. basis.) This calculation also includes the possibility of teleportation and time travel applications at the scientific and technological level (m) years from now and the possibility of going back and forward in time (n) years.

About the Book Ever since the creation of science fiction, readers the world over have been fascinated with concepts and technology far beyond current comprehension. But what if the science in science fiction could be explained and understood? With the progression of physics, the theories and mathematical equations behind mind-blowing concepts can become a bit easier to grasp. In The Split-Second Interval, William Holland begins by introducing the very basic history of physics, including the necessary mathematical concepts to understand the movement of an object in space-time, and progresses to the transition of three-dimensional logic to the time-based four-dimensional logic while describing Hypercube and four-dimensional movement. From there, a whole new world of universal understanding opens up, propelling the reader on a journey through anywhere and anywhen. Included in his work is a short story based on the principles discussed through the earlier pages, putting all the knowledge gained into one neat and wonderous tale, now with the foundation to understand the science behind the fiction. About the Author William Holland currently resides in Phoenix. He enjoys playing his keyboard, chess, cooking, and flying his Phantom ultralight aircraft. Holland volunteers in his community by making pancakes at local pancake breakfasts and serving ice cream at events.

A truly Galilean-class volume, this book introduces a new method in theory formation, completing the tools of epistemology. It covers a broad spectrum of theoretical and mathematical physics by researchers from over 20 nations from four continents. Like Vigier himself, the Vigier symposia are noted for addressing avant-garde, cutting-edge topics in contemporary physics. Among the six proceedings honoring J.-P. Vigier, this is perhaps the most exciting one as several important breakthroughs are introduced for the first time. The most interesting breakthrough in view of the recent NIST experimental violations of QED is a continuation of the pioneering work by Vigier on tight bound states in hydrogen. The new experimental protocol described not only promises empirical proof of large-scale extra dimensions in conjunction with avenues for testing string theory, but also implies the birth of the field of unified field mechanics, ushering in a new age of discovery. Work on quantum computing redefines the qubit in a manner that the uncertainty principle may be routinely violated. Other breakthroughs occur in the utility of quaternion algebra in extending our understanding of the nature of the fermionic singularity or point particle. There are several other discoveries of equal magnitude, making this volume a must-have acquisition for the library of any serious forward-looking researchers.
