Offered is must read for all who are seriously seeking a holistic view of worship. The author, Bill Morrison, is someone I have known for nearly three decades and his life experience as a follower of Christ shines through the content of this book. Bill is a deep thinking minister of the gospel who has spent years studying and pondering the real meaning of worship. Offered is biblically based. Every page of the book points the reader to the scriptures and not just to personal opinions. This work is theologically sound. There are no side trails which lead the reader away from the main focus of worshiping God, in spirit and in truth. Offered is a practically oriented book which can be utilized in small group Bible studies, devotionals, and in sermons. The well organized chapters make this a practical guide to better understanding worship. My favorite chapter is the one which describes The Great Commission as our call to worship. Interpreting the Great Commission in this fashion, helps readers see worship as a way of life, not a single action of the Christian. When we understand this truism, we are freed from trying to make a list of priorities which makes worship a separated part of the Christian life. I recommend Offered to you as a reliable guide for you in your quest to better comprehend the full meaning of worship. Like me, I think you will come to know that we are here on this earth to be offered to The Living God for a life of worship. Dr. Rick Lance Executive Director, Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions

The University of Alabama (UA) is one of the most prominent universities in the US. Volume One of this series explored UA’s birth, formative years, its burning by Union soldiers, and its rebirth in 1871. Volume Two noted the adolescent years of the school, rebellion by the students against the military system of government, the rise of a student culture via the admission of women, and a nascent men’s sports program. This third volume explores rising enrollment and a new style of student governance. The book investigates how UA dealt with student smoking, cursing, and hazing. It covers how UA became nationally respected academically, the rise of a successful sports program, the first use of the phrase “Crimson Tide,” the history of the Million Dollar Band and how “Yea, Alabama” became the school fight song, the UA/Auburn rift, and the UA response to WWI and to the women’s rights movement.

Reading Through Matthew, Encountering God is the first book by William Burch. He was born in North Hollywood, California in 1971, the second of 2 sons born to James and Rosa Burch. In 1977, the Burch family moved to Daleville, Alabama where the author grew up and later attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. William served in the Unites States Army before moving to Texas and completing his Bachelor Degree at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The author went on to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas completing a Master of Divinity Degree. William has served in a number of churches as a teacher, lay leader, and staff member. This book fulfills his long held desire and passion for writing. In the future, the author envisions continuing his ministry in both writing and church ministry. God teaches and speaks to people through the Bible. This book will teach and inspire Christians to read the Bible and respond with their lives. In Reading Through Matthew, Encountering God, I demonstrate my method of Bible reading, journaling, and prayer. This Dynamic Bible Reading, as I call it, involves reading a small Bible passage and journaling the believer's interaction with that passage through three distinct sections; (1) Scripture Insight: the meaning of the passage, (2) Application: how to apply the meaning to life, and (3) Prayer: seeking God's guidance in living out what the passage teaches. To best draw the meaning of Scripture into our lives, we must read it, work through its meaning, and begin to practice it in life. This book helps to develop these skills. Once gained, I hope each reader will pass this book on to someone else who might benefit from it.

What do you do with your money? What do you think of your boss? Do you like your work? Is it satisfying? Are you satisfied with your answers? Do you know that God, through Scripture, offers us answers? Two of the most fundamental challenges for all humankind are deciding how to live and, if we accumulate riches, deciding how to use them. Did you know that God expects all humankind to work? For the Christian, all work is part of your Christian calling, whether you collect garbage for a living or sit in Washington deciding affairs of state. And what does Scripture have to say about riches? Did you know that Jesus directed more attention to the question of how to deal with wealth than just about any other subject he addressed during his three-year ministry? Join me in this short journey as we explore work and wealth in Scripture and seek answers to the above questions and others. We travel from the first work recorded in the Bible to our own time, when leisure competes with work for our attention and wealth gives us a false sense of security that puts us in danger of replacing God with self.

For all who have found the Bible difficult to read and science hard to understand, this author did too! Wouldnt it be wonderful if someone would take the time to study things such as difficult verses? Also, would it be helpful if somebody wrote it in a book? Have we really found real truth to Noahs flood? Does anyone know the physics that could cause such a global occurrence? Someone has now researched for most of a lifetime, plus three extra years of intensive study. The answers are not always easy, the solutions not always simple. Modern Science finds more evidence almost daily that there once was a flood of such proportions. Author, Harris F. Allen has spent countless hours attempting to answer his own questions. He has a few tools including much science and Bible in his college studies. Always an active overachiever, Allen has become deaf and partially disabled. That left far more time and greater opportunity than he could ever imagine. Having a history of regular church attendance from his early youth, the author received a reasonable background, but always had some unanswered questions. So, in pharmacy school in a Baptist college, he excelled in New and Old Testament studies. Chemistry and science of various sorts were the main topics of study, and by adding Bible, that is an ideal mix for this discussion. Allen will present his findings from both a scientific view and a Biblical understanding. He will explain what he found about difficult verses and some parts of the Bible that seem at times to be in conflict. He will also discuss the physics, biochemistry and other dynamics that could be involved in such a worldwide flood. Regardless of science or Biblical belief, the flood did occur at about the time the Bible said it did.
