The Unraveling Thread tells the story of a family exploding in crisis. Desperate, Harriet hires a middle-aged, Native American woman, Agatha, with no references, no address, and a past steeped in mystery. Stern but loving, Agatha forces each family member to work through their issues with honesty and dignity while hiding from her own grief. In the end, the storys memorable characters each learn how to pick up the threads of both love and self respect that will pull them out into the harsh world and then lead them back home.

Dark Goddess Magick introduces 20 of the most powerful shadow goddesses and guidance on how to connect with them. Light magick is all well and good, but sometimes you can't just “love and light” your way through challenging circumstances. The potent shadow goddesses you meet here, however, can guide you through the darkness. Authored by Ara Campbell of the wildly popular Goddess Circle school and community, each dark goddess entry includes spells, invocations, and practices to utilize the goddess's magick and wisdom for embodying strength, setting boundaries, and transforming your life. Often, it is in the darkest times that we find our strength and reclaim our power. Someone poaching on your lover, your home, or your business? Call on Kali, The Warrioress, to release your fear and stand your ground. Is your world falling apart or are you processing deep trauma or grief? Call on Persephone, The Dark Queen, to help guide you through your emotional underworld and find a new beginning. Trying to shake your “nice” girl or people-pleaser tendencies? Call on Lilith, The Rebel Renegade Goddess, to reclaim your freedom. Feeling stuck in some life situation that won’t move forward? Call upon Morrigan, The Phantom Queen, to shapeshift the circumstances. When life gets hard and messy, Dark Goddess Magick gives you spells, practices, and dark goddesses you can call on.

What does postcoloniality have to do with sacramentality? How do diasporic lives and imaginaries shape the course of postcolonial sacramental theology? Neither postcolonial theorists nor sacramental theologians have hitherto sought to engage in a sustained dialogue with one another. In this trailblazing volume, Kristine Suna-Koro brings postcolonialism, diaspora discourse, and Christian sacramental theology into a mutually critical and constructive transdisciplinary conversation. Dialoguing with thinkers as diverse as Edward Said and Gayatri Spivak as well as Francis D'Sa, S.J., Martin Luther, Mayra Rivera, and John Chryssavgis, the author offers a postcolonial retrieval of sacramentality through a robust theological engagement with the postcolonial notions of hybridity, contrapuntality, planetarity, and Third Space. While exploring the methodological potential of diasporic imaginary in theology, this innovative book advances the notion of sacramental pluriverse and of Christ as its paradigmatic crescendo within the sacramental economy of creation and redemptive transformation. In the context of ecological degradation, In Counterpoint argues that it is vital for the postcolonial sacramental renewal to be rooted in ethics as a uniquely postcolonial fundamental theology.

True, she's in line for the throne before him and he contends she's too deaf to rule, but she's known since he broke her hand to keep her from using sign language. Now, as the kingdom's Bishop-Princep, Uncle Reichard has declared war on magic and Marguerite must hide the fact that she's a witch. While witnessing her first witch trial, Marguerite rescues a child from death with the help of a handsome, itinerant acrobat, Tys. Marguerite flees, hiding in the neighboring empire where magical gifts can flourish. Before her training is complete, war threatens. She returns home, only to witness her uncle seizing the throne. He isolates and imprisons her. Marguerite's love for her people drives her to continue defying him. But to challenge him means she'll have to rely on her homemade invisibility cloak, questionable allies, and Tys, the one boy she never should have trusted.

The fascinating companion title to the award-winning historical novel Blood on the River: James Town 1607. After the colony of James Town is founded in 1607. After Captain John Smith establishes trade with the Native Americans. After Pocahontas befriends the colonists. After early settlers both thrive and die in this new world . . . a girl is born. Virginia. Virginia Laydon, an infant at the end of Blood on the River, has now grown up in a colony that is teetering dangerously on the precipice of conflict with the native Algonquins. Virginia has the gift, or the curse, of the knowing-an ability that could help save the colony, and is equally likely to land her at the burning stake as an accused witch. Virginia struggles to make sense of her own inner world against the backdrop of pivotal years in the Jamestown colony. The first representative government is established, the first enslaved Africans arrive, and the self-righteousness of the colony's leaders angers the Algonquin. When Virginia's mother first learns of her gift, she is terrified. Kill it, her mother says, or they will kill you. When accusations and danger threaten, Virginia learns that she is on her own; her mother must protect her young sisters rather than stand up for her. So begins a journey of self-realization and increasing strength, as Virginia goes from being a self-protective young girl to someone who knows she must live her own truth even if it will be the end of her.

Have you ever felt lost? Have you ever felt confused? Have you ever felt angry? Have you ever felt used? I am sure that you have. Do you think of fate? Do you think of love? Do you dream of a break? Do you wonder what's above? I am sure that you do. I could probably go on listing countless things that we as human beings either think, feel and/or act upon. I call these "things" threads. Each one of us is a spool of thread and with each encounter, journey, burden, etc a piece of our thread unravels. Some of us may have enough thread to last for generations, some only for a short while; but we are all connected. When we're all sewn together we create a beautiful tapestry which encompasses a wide variety of story. The Threads of Life is my story. Take my hand and place yourself inside the story. Take from it all that I have given and know that no matter how dark and difficult things seem, there is always resolution in the end.
