Hope. Love. Longing. Fear. Anger. Pain. Despair. These are the emotions that unify all human beings regardless of race, culture, country, or social standing. This poetic anthology is a self examination by the author of how she experiences these emotions in her own life, which serves as an example for our own suffering. Are we all doomed to feel these emotions in these stages or is it more like a circle, with hope leading to despair and back to hope again? Like the sinking of the Titanic, the loss of the author was a tragedy, especially for someone who brought so much happiness to all those around her. And like the Titanic whose treasures were unearthed after her sinking, so too is this book of poems a treasure brought back to the surface for you to enjoy. One of the first of many.

Why do we lose our ability to feel great? And what is 'feeling great' anyway? Is it really possible to feel great in today's world where every day there is some new crisis or disorder? Some new upheaval or unexpected negativity? Where violence is rife? Is feeling great out of place or insensitive to the reality of many people's lives? In this treasure of a book, Janki, Vegso and Johnson call on their decades of spiritual study and practical experience to answer these and other essential questions. You will learn what it really means to 'feel great' – and it might not be what you expect. You will discover that feeling great is not about having a good time for a few hours, or having money to spend. It's about putting your life in order and remembering who you really are. It's about practicing the four keys revealed in this book—enthusiasm, optimism, contentment, and respect—then learning how to start acquiring and applying them. Janki and Vegso's rich descriptions of the sticking points we encounter on our journey through life demonstrate how we can recover our ability to truly feel great – not as a temporary indulgence, but as a lasting state of being. Now is the time to start feeling great, and this uplifting book shows you how easy it can be.

Eddy County's 4,198 square miles were carved from the massive land holdings of Lincoln County, then the largest county in the United States, on February 25, 1889. Early Spanish explorers and Native Americans had used the seemingly endless water supply of the Pecos River, which bisects the county, as a trail to the north. Seven Rivers, the first settlement in the Pecos Valley, battled the newly formed town of Eddy for the honor of remaining county seat. Eddy won by a vote of 331 for and 83 against. Although born in lawlessness and diversity, the county flourished as the discoveries of oil, gas, and potash brought industry to support the established fertile agricultural and cattle foundations. This volume explores the early founding families and pioneers and brings to light many of the long-forgotten towns of Dayton, Lookout, Oriental, and Globe that helped form the Eddy County of today.

In June 1948, Joseph Stalin halted all road and rail traffic in to and out of the Allied sector of Berlin and cut off all electricity to the city. The only route into Berlin was by means of three twenty-mile-wide air corridors across the Soviet zone of Germany. Thus the wartime allies of Britain, France and the USA realized that the only option open to them was to supply the beleaguered West Berlin by air transport and so started one of the most dramatic events of the twentieth century. The airlift started in June, 1948. At the beginning there were three loading airfields: Rhein Main and Wiesbaden in the American zone, and Weinstorf in the British zone. By September of 1948 the airlift was transporting a massive tonnage of supplies into Berlin, including coal, food, medical supplies and all the other necessities of life. A mixed fleet of aircraft plodded their endless path to and from the city. Both Ex-planes and pilots were dragged out of retirement. In September 1948 the Russian military threatened to force down western aircraft if they flew outside the 20-mile wide corridors but by March 1949 a total of 45,683 tons of supplies per week were being flown into Berlin. In April Russia finally announced her intention to end the blockade.
