V1-ROTATE SYNOPSIS: “Gateway 329 heavy, you’re cleared into position runway 30, cleared for takeoff.” “Roger Tower, 329 heavy is rolling.” As Captain Michael McGraw maneuvered the heavy jet into position on the runway and advanced the throttles, the aircraft began its headlong dash into the sky. First Officer Ryan Starnes reported “Airspeed alive 60 knots,” As the aircraft continued to accelerate along the narrow runway, Ryan continued to call out the speeds until they reached, “V-1 and then VR rotate speed. With deft backpressure applied to the control yoke by the able captain, the heavy jet rose gracefully into the sky. First officer Ryan Starnes began his maiden flight for Gateway International Airlines some months earlier with the “tough as nails” Captain Michael McGraw. If his luck of the draw wasn’t bad enough, he also had to deal with a menacing storm brewing. Ryan had heard many rumors as to what to expect from the notorious Capt. McGraw; he would learn that most were true. Years ago, paths crossed and left deep imprints in their lives. Explore the intimate details of the lives of two very strong willed and stubborn men. Antagonists, united by their chosen profession, bonded by a fateful event, the secrets that lurk beneath the surface will undoubtedly change their lives. Share their adventures, their loves and challenges in the world of aviation. Meet Connie, the poised, sophisticated, sensuous woman whose mistake early in life had a profound effect on the lives of both men. Get to know the lovely Melissa. So incredibly beautiful that most men treated her like a rare china doll. Melissa shared their love of flying, but made it her personal rule never to date pilots. That is until she met Ryan. Ryan definitely had a way with the women. Somehow he knew from the first time he met her that Melissa was different. Read about the deceptions, the intrigue, the sexual trysts and the fast-paced lives of the crews of Gateway International Airlines Deliciously captivating, a must read! Spectroscopy The Key To The Stars written by Keith Robinson and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-08-15 with Science categories.

This is the first non-technical book on spectroscopy written specifically for practical amateur astronomers. It includes all the science necessary for a qualitative understanding of stellar spectra, but avoids a mathematical treatment which would alienate many of its intended readers. Any amateur astronomer who carries out observational spectroscopy and who wants a non-technical account of the physical processes which determine the intensity and profile morphology of lines in stellar spectra will find this is the only book written specially for them. It is an ideal companion to existing books on observational amateur astronomical spectroscopy.

Rethinking Quaternions written by Ron Goldman and has been published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-05-05 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Quaternion multiplication can be used to rotate vectors in three-dimensions. Therefore, in computer graphics, quaternions have three principal applications: to increase speed and reduce storage for calculations involving rotations, to avoid distortions arising from numerical inaccuracies caused by floating point computations with rotations, and to interpolate between two rotations for key frame animation. Yet while the formal algebra of quaternions is well-known in the graphics community, the derivations of the formulas for this algebra and the geometric principles underlying this algebra are not well understood. The goals of this monograph are to provide a fresh, geometric interpretation for quaternions, appropriate for contemporary computer graphics, based on mass-points; to present better ways to visualize quaternions, and the effect of quaternion multiplication on points and vectors in three dimensions using insights from the algebra and geometry of multiplication in the complex plane; to derive the formula for quaternion multiplication from first principles; to develop simple, intuitive proofs of the sandwiching formulas for rotation and reflection; to show how to apply sandwiching to compute perspective projections. In addition to these theoretical issues, we also address some computational questions. We develop straightforward formulas for converting back and forth between quaternion and matrix representations for rotations, reflections, and perspective projections, and we discuss the relative advantages and disadvantages of the quaternion and matrix representations for these transformations. Moreover, we show how to avoid distortions due to floating point computations with rotations by using unit quaternions to represent rotations. We also derive the formula for spherical linear interpolation, and we explain how to apply this formula to interpolate between two rotations for key frame animation. Finally, we explain the role of quaternions in low-dimensional Clifford algebras, and we show how to apply the Clifford algebra for R3 to model rotations, reflections, and perspective projections. To help the reader understand the concepts and formulas presented here, we have incorporated many exercises in order to clarify and elaborate some of the key points in the text. Theoretical Foundations Of Artificial General Intelligence written by Pei Wang and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-08-31 with Computers categories.

This book is a collection of writings by active researchers in the field of Artificial General Intelligence, on topics of central importance in the field. Each chapter focuses on one theoretical problem, proposes a novel solution, and is written in sufficiently non-technical language to be understandable by advanced undergraduates or scientists in allied fields. This book is the very first collection in the field of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) focusing on theoretical, conceptual, and philosophical issues in the creation of thinking machines. All the authors are researchers actively developing AGI projects, thus distinguishing the book from much of the theoretical cognitive science and AI literature, which is generally quite divorced from practical AGI system building issues. And the discussions are presented in a way that makes the problems and proposed solutions understandable to a wide readership of non-specialists, providing a distinction from the journal and conference-proceedings literature. The book will benefit AGI researchers and students by giving them a solid orientation in the conceptual foundations of the field (which is not currently available anywhere); and it would benefit researchers in allied fields by giving them a high-level view of the current state of thinking in the AGI field. Furthermore, by addressing key topics in the field in a coherent way, the collection as a whole may play an important role in guiding future research in both theoretical and practical AGI, and in linking AGI research with work in allied disciplines

Mathematical Tools In Computer Graphics With C Implementations written by Alexandre Hardy and has been published by World Scientific Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-01-04 with Computers categories.

Mathematics is vital for an understanding of computer graphics. This volume helps the reader gain such an understanding by presenting all introductory and most advanced topics in the field of computer graphics with mathematical descriptions and derivations. Offering a balance of theory, applications, and code, the underlying numerical methods and algorithms are derived and a large number of examples are given. The book begins with a discussion of basic graphics tools such as vectors, matrices, and quaternions, and then builds up to more advanced topics such as the intersection of three-dimensional objects. Both classical and newer topics, such as parameterization, wavelets, fractals, and geometry images, are covered. In particular, the book contains all of the classes in C# necessary for computer graphics, providing a full explanation of the C# code and C# implementations for almost all algorithms.
