La muestra ofrece una visión sobre la manera en que la cultura occidental ha asimilado las antiguas representaciones de cuerpos desnudos y su influencia en el actual canon de belleza. En total reúne 95 obras, entre esculturas de mármol, terracotas, relieves, bronces, espejos y vasos cerámicos, que abarcan desde el s.VI a.C al I. d.C. La mayoría de ellas proceden de Ática, Beocia, Sur de Italia, Etruria y la Península Ibérica, a las que acompañan copias de esculturas procedentes de museos españoles, fotografías, dibujos y cuadernos de academia, entre los que destaca un facsímil del cuaderno de Goya. La exposición se articula en varios espacios que establecen un recorrido por el concepto y evolución del desnudo en la antigua Grecia. Desde el principio ya se hace patente la deuda con el modelo de tradición clásica: se muestran imágenes de cuerpos actuales trabajados en gimnasios, el modelo de belleza contemporáneo. El desnudo que se inventa en Grecia cumple las funciones de un vestido, diferenciando etnias, géneros y clases sociales. Solo los hombres griegos se desnudan, y sólo aquellos que disfrutan de una clase social que les permite tener ocio y acudir a la palestra. Tras estos cuerpos perfectos se esconden cualidades y virtudes fundamentales en la Antigua Grecia como la fortaleza, la resistencia o el coraje. El siguiente bloque se centra en el desnudo femenino, que aparece siglos más tarde, a partir del s.IV a.C., y que carece del carácter heroico del masculino; aparece siempre ligado a la imagen de Afrodita e introduce la mirada del voyeur. El último espacio se centra en la recuperación del modelo de cuerpo griego en el Renacimiento y su estudio a partir del siglo XVIII y, sobre todo, en el XIX. Las obras antiguas se establecen como modelo de cuerpo perfecto en la tradición académica.
