Il VALS si compone di 14 prove suddivise in 5 aree: • Linguistica: coscienza fonologica, denominazione rapida automatizzata; • Lettura: lettura di parole e non-parole, lettura del testo; • Scrittura: dettato di parole e non-parole, dettato di brano; • Attenzione: attenzione visiva e uditiva; • Memoria: memoria verbale immediata e differita, span numeri diretto e inverso, listening span. Per ciascuna prova vengono forniti i dati normativi di riferimento e le proprietà psicometriche, nonché le modalità di somministrazione, calcolo e interpretazione del punteggio.
