What S Your Future Worth written by Peter Neuwirth and has been published by ReadHowYouWant this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-03-01 with Business & Economics categories.

We weigh every significant decision based on how it will affect our future. But when it comes to figuring that out, we mostly make the process up as we go along. While financial professional Peter Neuwirth can't help you actually predict the future, he can offer a simple, systematic way to make much better guesses about it - and so make better decisions. Neuwirth offers an accessible, step - by - step guide to using the powerful concept of Present Value - which allows you to determine the value today of something that might happen in the future - to evaluate all of the outcomes that might arise from choosing one path as opposed to another. Using examples that anyone can relate to, Neuwirth walks you through the process. Your old refrigerator doesn't work as well as it used to - should you buy a new one right away or muddle through for a while? You're offered a great discount on a service you don't need at the moment but eventually will - buy the service now or wait? With just a little math and some common sense, you can compare future costs and benefits with present costs and benefits and make ''apples to apples'' comparisons. This book will be indispensable for anyone who has ever had to figure out whether to stick with an awful job or follow his or her bliss, fix that old car or buy a new one, increase 401(k) contributions or keep the same take - home pay, and a thousand other decisions.

To be a top performer in the digital economy—to become truly future ready—you need a playbook. Now you have one. It seems like almost every company you can think of—including your own—has embarked on a "digital transformation" journey. The problem is, many companies start down the road without a good sense of where they are going or a clear idea of how they will create and capture digital value. Not surprisingly, this leads to problems: failure to realize the value from digital in their bottom lines, wasted resources and effort, added complexity and dysfunction. This compact, no-nonsense book provides a solution. In their years of working with senior executives around the world, MIT research scientists Stephanie Woerner, Peter Weill, and Ina Sebastian noticed that these leaders knew they had to transform their businesses, but lacked a coherent framework and a common language—a playbook—to guide and motivate their employees and keep everyone focused on a common goal. Future Ready is that playbook. Based on years of rigorous research with data from more than a thousand companies—BBVA, CEMEX, DBS, Fidelity, Maersk, and many others—the book provides a powerful, field-tested "four pathways" framework that offers insights into the important dimensions at which a firm must excel in order to be competitive, as well as the organizational disruptions that every firm must manage as part of the transformation journey. The book includes instructive examples, sharp analyses, assessments to help companies benchmark themselves against top performers, and many illuminating visuals to help crystallize the data and ideas. Woerner, Weill, and Sebastian show that the goal isn't digital transformation but rather a profound business transformation. Future Ready is your essential guide for becoming a top performer in the digital economy.

The social cost of carbon (SC-CO2) is an economic metric intended to provide a comprehensive estimate of the net damages - that is, the monetized value of the net impacts, both negative and positive - from the global climate change that results from a small (1-metric ton) increase in carbon-dioxide (CO2) emissions. Under Executive Orders regarding regulatory impact analysis and as required by a court ruling, the U.S. government has since 2008 used estimates of the SC-CO2 in federal rulemakings to value the costs and benefits associated with changes in CO2 emissions. In 2010, the Interagency Working Group on the Social Cost of Greenhouse Gases (IWG) developed a methodology for estimating the SC-CO2 across a range of assumptions about future socioeconomic and physical earth systems. Valuing Climate Changes examines potential approaches, along with their relative merits and challenges, for a comprehensive update to the current methodology. This publication also recommends near- and longer-term research priorities to ensure that the SC- CO2 estimates reflect the best available science.

Future Value Generation written by Daniel Egger and has been published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-10 with categories.

Most companies today are challenged by change. They strive to react with quick solutions, while at the same time design new opportunities for the future. But inevitably, they get disappointing results. Why? In Future Value Generation, Daniel Egger offers a compelling and provocative answer: Innovation merely attempts to solve past problems, Strategy locks in a static worldview, and foresight too often explores what is possible, but not practical. The missing integration of the three processes leads to a prioritization of the present, and an intensifying urgency to prepare for the future. As the quantity and complexity of change will only increase, the pressure for executives to react to it and proactively shape their future grows. To create new value, companies need integration. The logic presented in this book explores the synergies and benefits of connecting innovation, foresight and strategy. It presents a framework that increases the agility of strategic implementation, establishes a continuous and aligned innovation process, and explains how to generate value for the future. Filled with deep practical insights and fresh perspectives, Future Value Generation is a "how-to" for successful and profitable future organizations."
