All but passion for anything other than horses and expanding his financial empire. Even Americas trail of blood and sacrifice by December 1944 fails to stir patriotism for his adopted country. A half thought- out scheme to slip into Germanys East Prussia to retrieve a stallion and mare before one of the worlds finest all- around horse breeds vanishes results in Hank being ensnared in a massive refugee flight from attacking Russians. Same as the three previous volumes: The Unavoidable Surgery, Holocaust and Redemption and Coexistence with Hagar's Offspring this book is another chapter in Jewish History and deals also with the old Arab-Israeli conflict. One of the problems is the important controversial issue of Transfer or Arab Deportation. The problem of Transfer of people in order to put an end to more wars and more blood sheds. Unfortunately, many countries had to use this means, including the United States (the Indians, Winfield Scott and the Cherokees, the inhabitants of Marshall Islands in order to enable the Americans to perform their Nuclear Tests, etc.). For several past and present experiences, the Deportation of Ethnic Minorities for the sake of improving the stability of the region was not considered a great violation of Human Rights. A Jewish Government, an Israeli Government that does not operate in this direction is not fulfilling its duties, is not functioning adequately, is betraying its voters and should be replaced. To attain Peace in the Middle East, the Arabs must recognize the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish State and stop their belligerent attitude towards Israel.

A vast number of studies have documented the economic and geological effects of oil production, but the impact of boom-and-bust cycles on individuals and communities has received less attention. Boom or Bust remedies this gap by highlighting the personal experiences of those directly affected in an economy dominated by oil and natural gas production. The Permian Basin is one of the largest oil-producing regions in the United States. People who live there have benefited from explosive growth, only to see opportunities vanish with sudden industry downturns. In 2016, the National Endowment for the Humanities funded a grant for the study and collection of energy narratives in this economically volatile region. Boom or Bust derives from that community initiative and offers a unique contribution to the developing field of energy humanities. The oil-field industry may seem to be all about numbers, but as Boom or Bust demonstrates, residents of oil-and-gas country, whether they work in the oil field or not, are at the mercy of an ever-shifting economy. When the price of oil rises, companies move in and newcomers flood the area, expanding the employment force. And as the population booms, so does the infrastructure of cities. When prices drop, though, families must make difficult choices: whether to stay put or follow the oil to another location. With the ensuing declines in population, small businesses close their doors and unemployment levels rise. Despite the inevitable declines and despite the increase in alternative energy resources, many West Texans feel a sense of pride that borders on patriotism. Boom or Bust reveals the full complexity of boomtown culture.

Dublin Voices written by Kevin C. Kearns and has been published by Gill & Macmillan Ltd this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-09-06 with History categories.

For nearly thirty years, Kevin C. Kearns collected the memories and recollections of Dubliners on tape. These interviews have formed the basis of an extraordinary body of work, one whose subjects have included the life of the Dublin pub and the tenement house. In this ambitious book, he considers their contributions in aggregate, drawing on the voices of ordinary Dubliners to build an oral folk history of the city in the twentieth century. Firemen, engine drivers, bell ringers, gatekeepers, cinema ushers, gravediggers, dockers, factory workers, butchers, hatters, booksellers and many more: all contribute their own words to this epic portrait of Dublin city life in the turbulent decades separating the Victorian and modern eras. In Dublin Voices, the words of ordinary Dubliners can be heard as they recall their lives and times. Lucid, witty and compelling, these oral narratives bring the city to life in a manner that conventional histories simply cannot match.
