More than just a translation from the acclaimed French work Voies d'Abord des Vaisseaux, this revised and updated second edition re-examines the current problems and practices facing today's vascular surgeons. Each chapter has been updated or completely rewritten to reflect the needs of the current practice of vascular surgery. The contributing authors were selected for their world-wide surgical expertise, reflecting both a European and North American view; they share with the senior editors a vision of surgical technique as an important "everyday" resource. Each of more than 30 chapters is dedicated to finding the best approach to a specific vein, artery, or other site, with emphasis placed on thorough technical knowledge. With more than 80 illustrations new to this book, over 350 total illustrations provide excellent visual reference to the accompanying text. When appropriate, international anatomic nomenclature is used to guarantee a clear understanding of the material. Because it deals with both basic and advanced techniques, this book will prove useful for vascular surgeons still in training, as well as those more experienced surgeons wishing to consult a definitive reference work. Any physician or surgeon interested in furthering their knowledge of invasive vascular and endovascular surgery would also benefit by reading this work.

The aim is to provide a combined text and hands-on guide that will permit rapid retrieval of information when treating vascular surgical patients in the emergency room. Emergency Vascular Surgery: A Practical Guide is organized into two sections, on specific body areas and general concepts. The first section covers the body from head to toe, with separate chapters for injuries and non-traumatic disease, while the second discusses general principles relating to emergent vascular surgical practice and provides broad vascular surgical guidelines for the inexperienced surgeon. Chapters in the first section are uniformly organized, addressing incidence, etiology, and pathophysiology; clinical presentation; suggestions for workup and diagnosis; and management and treatment. Initial management, selection of pati ents for emergent surgery, and the performance of common vascular surgical procedures are all carefully explained. The focus on a hands-on approach and practical tips will be invaluable in the clinical setting for both more experienced surgeons and newcomers to the field.

Vascular Reconstructions written by Jamal J. Hoballah and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-02-04 with Medical categories.

When the first edition of Vascular Reconstructions was published almost twenty years ago, endovascular surgery was still in its infancy. Endovascular approaches became the preferred initial intervention for many vascular pathologies resulting in a major decrease in open vascular surgical procedures. In order to build upon changes in the management of vascular pathology over the past two decades, this second edition of Vascular Reconstructions was conceived. The first part starts with a review of commonly used vascular instruments and an overview of grafts and sutures used in vascular reconstructions. A detailed chapter on vascular anatomy and exposures is provided to serve as a quick reference before starting a vascular procedure. The remaining chapters in the first part of this book review the basic steps usually performed before and after constructing a vascular anastomosis in addition to thrombectomy and endarterectomy. The second part of this book focuses on the various methods used to conduct a vascular reconstruction, which include primary closure, closure with a patch angioplasty, end-to-end, end-to-side, and side- to-side anastomoses. The various possible modifications used are outlined. The third part of this book reviews the various adjunctive methods used when constructing the proximal or distal anastomoses of an infrainguinal bypass. The fourth part of the book reviews the various modifications that are carried out when constructing the proximal and distal anastomoses of an aortic occlusive or aneurysmal pathology. The vascular anastomoses workshop that inspired the conception of this book is included as an appendix. The fifth part focuses on endovascular therapy and imaging. Vascular Reconstructions: Anatomy, Exposures, and Techniques 2nd Edition aims to make the vascular rotation a pleasant experience for surgical residents, the vascular faculty, recent graduates embarking on conducting vascular reconstructions independently, and healthcare providers who wish to be familiar with the various steps involved in conducting a vascular procedure.
