“Veda dei Sibillini” è una raccolta di racconti che come si legge nel frontespizio sono “Racconti dal cratere sismico della vita”, nascono cioè dalla profondità della Madre Terra, da ciò che siamo, dal nostro Io, dove il magma incandescente diventa il movimento di creazione e distruzione di un Siva danzante. Il testo così concepito talvolta assume il contorno di uno scritto iniziatico ed esoterico, in altre occasioni diventa autobiografico, ma anche surreale, tuttavia sfugge dai confini di una definizione di genere. Così ha deciso di presentarsi l’autore Umberto Mangani con questo suo primo libro che racchiude nei 14 capitoli, brevi storie che in apparenza sembrano scollegate tra loro eppure procedendo nella lettura, le parole, i fatti e le immagini si richiamano, arricchendo di nuove sfumature tutto lo scritto. (tratto dall'introduzione di Anna Treppo) Umberto Mangani, è nato a Fermo (Ascoli Piceno) il 24 giugno 1969. Attualmente vive e lavora a Civitanova Marche (Macerata). Ha pubblicato 3 raccolte di poesia: “Messa a fuoco”, “Quarnero e altri colori” e "Nove rivelazioni". Ha collaborato per alcuni anni con “Casa della poesia” di Baronissi (Salerno) con la quale ha promosso gli Incontri internazionali di poesia "Sidaja" (Trieste). Negli ultimi anni, e con maggiore intensità a partire dall’esplosione della pandemia, si sono registrati fenomeni di mobilità dalla città verso la montagna. Sempre più, abitanti delle aree urbane hanno scelto di trasferirsi in località di valle, spesso marginali e spopolate, per sfuggire alle città, percepite come malsane e pericolose, per promuovere nuove attività o per approfittare del telelavoro in una quotidianità più vicina alla natura. La prossimità crea legami sociali che strutturano la vita quotidiana degli individui, ma il ruolo e il rapporto con la dimensione geografica, relazionale e della quotidianità può variare a seconda del quadro storico e quindi degli specifici ambiti economici, sociali, politici e culturali. In quale misura la marginalizzazione socioeconomica e territoriale che tocca molte aree dello spazio alpino è legata al depotenziamento subìto negli ultimi decenni dai servizi di prossimità (negozi, bar, posta, scuole, presidi sanitari) presenti in questi territori? E come l’odierno dibattito attorno ai «beni comuni» può essere la premessa per una loro rigenerazione? Il volume cerca di rispondere a queste domande attraverso contributi che, da prospettive diverse, esaminano il ruolo dei servizi di prossimità nelle traiettorie storiche e nelle attuali realtà delle comunità montane. Allo stesso tempo, dà voce a un ventaglio di esperienze al cui centro vi sono le varie e sfaccettate declinazioni, forme e funzioni assunte dai servizi di prossimità.
