Optimizing Wireless Communication Systems written by Francisco Rodrigo Porto Cavalcanti and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-07-31 with Technology & Engineering categories.
In June 2000, GTEL (Wireless Telecommunications Research Group) at the F- eral University of Ceara ́ was founded by Professor Rodrigo Cavalcanti and his c- leagues with the mission of developing wireless communications technology and impact the development of the Brazilian telecommunications sector. From the start, this research effort has been supported by Ericsson Research providing a dynamic environment where academia and industry together can address timely and relevant research challenges. This book summarized much of the research output that has resulted from GTEL’s efforts. It provides a comprehensive treatment of the physical and multiple access layers in mobile communication systems describing different generations of systems but with a focus on 3G systems. The team of Professor C- alcanti has contributed scienti cally to the development of this eld and built up an impressive expertise. In the chapters that follow, they share their views and kno- edge on the underlying principles and technical trade-offs when designing the air interface of 3G systems. The complexity of 3G systems and the interaction between the physical and m- tiple access layers present a tremendous challenge when modeling, designing, and analyzing the mobile communication system. Herein, the authors tackle this pr- lem in an impressive manner. Their work is very much in line with the developments in 3GPP providing a deeper understanding of the evolution of 3G and also future enhancements.

A Study On Radio Access Technology Selection Algorithms written by Leijia Wu and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-04-25 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book discusses the basic idea of Common Radio Resource Management (CRRM), especially on the Radio Access Technologies selection part of CRRM. It introduces two interaction functions (information reporting function and RRM decision support function) and four interaction degrees (from low to very high) of CRRM. Four possible CRRM topologies (CRRM server, integrated CRRM, Hierarchical CRRM, and CRRM in user terminals) are described. The book presents different Radio Access Technologies selection algorithms, including single criterion and multiple criteria based algorithms are presented and compares them. Finally, the book analyses the advantages and disadvantages of the different selection algorithms.

This comprehensive new resource provides methods and tools for defining EMC requirements and techniques for performing predictions and calculations to achieve electromagnetic compatibility. This book demonstrates how radar, communications, and navigation systems can function without interference. EMC requirements for the device, platform, site, and arena level are discussed and EMC detection analysis is utilized to predict EMC problems. The book explores the interference between receiving and transmitting electronic systems and examines intersystem and intrasystem EMC. Techniques and mathematical framework for performing EMC prediction and calculations to solve electromagnetic compatibility problems are highlighted. Moreover, this book presents classic methods and several original EMC calculation procedures including new approaches in mathematical development of interference probability calculations. Readers learn how to anticipate problems and then define EMC solutions.
