This research aims to determine whether class X students at State Senior High School 2 Panca Rijang, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Indonesia can improve their speaking skills using video tutorials. The pre-experimental method is used on 2016-2017 students. 189 students. Data analysis shows significant differences in student scores before and after video tutorial instruction. Post-test scores are higher than pre-test scores (74.89>52.70). H1 is accepted because the p-value is below (0,000 0.05). According to data analysis, video tutorials improved students' speaking skills. Students are interested in speaking English by creating video tutorials, according to a Likert Scale analysis. 37% of very interested and 63% of interested students agreed. The researchers concluded that (1) video tutorials improve students' speaking skills and (2) video tutorials interest students in speaking English.

The main purpose of this paper is to explain the arguments that stand for video content presentation, as a teaching method with high results especially for some technical disciplines related to Business Information Systems (BIS).Our previous work was based on a "so called" practice of image management in order to conceive tutorials as documents containing suggestive static screen captures and their corresponding explanatory text. Some tests made few years ago with screen recording software failed mainly because of technical inconveniences: cursor movement recording errors, huge data space needed to post the results on the faculty portal, or low encoding power. Our present approach involved a logical sequence of steps composed by: content creation (recording, filtering, encoding/archiving, suggestive renaming), usability testing in a teaching class, impact testing based on questionnaires about the teaching method and testing specific requirements assumed to be learned using this kind of teaching in an evaluation class. The obvious results of the whole experiment that is the prime matter of this paper are related to the increased test performance of students. Another gain is the great amount of time available for additional activities as repetition. This kind of teaching offers more than ease of use and time efficiency. An example is the possibility to integrate learning and teaching activities with software testing. The idea of video tutorials is not new. The unusual came from continuous experiments for almost two university semesters and for three distinct disciplines related to BIS. That provided us data, feedback and a certain motivation to find a proper evaluation method for this kind of teaching using video tutorials.

"In grade 4-7 computer skills classes, screencasts were used to study how learner needs for assistance were served by video-tutorials in which learners could control the pacing and sequence of instruction. This study measured and compared the number of student requests for assistance during video-tutorial and teacher-led lessons, their performance on posttests following both methods of lesson delivery, and their attitudes and perceptions of their experiences of learning with video tutorials. When they were using video tutorials, controlling the pace and sequence of instruction in accordance with their own preferences, learners worked more independently and requested less support from the teacher or peers than they did during teacher-led lessons. Video-led groups outperformed teacher-led groups on posttests in this study. Student survey responses indicated that most students utilized the ability to pause and replay segments of the lesson; preferred video-led lessons over teacher-led lessons; and reported that video-led lessons made learning easier than it was during teacher-led lessons."--P. ii.
