This book focuseson the use of computer visionand graphics in architecture. It arose from a convergenceof several hot topics: 1. visualization of built environments for engineering, historical and other purposes, 2. virtual reconstruction of architecture from visual data of existing struc tures, whether via photogrammetric or range sensing techniques, and 3. augmentation of video data of architecture with useful information. The focus here is on architecture and howto present it, enhance it's abilities, make it easier to understand and make it accessibleto a larger public. Collective interest in this topic led to the International Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Architecture, whose papers are contained in this book. As editors, we were very pleased about how well the different papers chosen gavea nice focus to the topic and conference. It is clear that there are many different research approaches still active in this area - this makes it an exciting time. Wehope that this book captures that excitement and succeeds in bringing it to you.

Communicative Constructions And The Refiguration Of Spaces written by Gabriela B. Christmann and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-15 with Social Science categories.
The Open Access version of this book, available at www.taylorfrancis.com , has been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license Through a variety of empirical studies, this volume offers fresh insights into the manner in which different forms of communicative action transform urban space. With attention to the methodological questions that arise from the attempt to study such changes empirically, it offers new theoretical foundations for understanding the social construction and reconstruction of spaces through communicative action. Seeing communicative action as the basic element in the social construction of reality and conceptualizing communication not only in terms of the use of language and texts, but as involving any kind of objectification, such as technologies, bodies and non-verbal signs, it considers the roles of both direct and mediatized (or digitized) communication. An examination of the conceptualization of the communicative (re-)construction of spaces and the means by which this change might be empirically investigated, this book demonstrates the fruitfulness of the notion of refiguration as a means by which to understand the transformation of contemporary societies. As such, it will appeal to sociologists, social theorists, and geographers with interests in social construction and urban space.

This volume contains the papers presented at the 2nd International Conference on Internet Technology and Educational Informatization (ITEI 2022), held during December 23th-25th, 2023 in Harbin, China. Today, the rapid development in Internet and education technology poses new challenges to scientists that requires innovative approach and methodology or eventually new educational theories. Internet technology is the prerequisite for educational informatization to be realized. The specific Conference topics include: Artificial Intelligence in Education; User Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction; Distance Education for Computers; Computer Application in Social and Behavioural Sciences; Pedagogy Enhancement with E-Learning; Accessibility to Disabled Users; etc. Also, the Conference is intended to give students and research groups the opportunity to learn more about Internet Technology and Educational Informatization as an important tool in their applications and development. There were about 150 participants from countries all over the world attended the conference and they attended the presentations by scholars representing both institutes and academia. The scientific program consisted of in total 5 talks as well as many oral and poster presentations. Five talks were invited keynote speakers given by Pun Chi Man (University of Macau, China), Yongjun Feng (Shaanxi Normal University, China), Philippe Fournier-Viger (Shenzhen University, China), Rafidah Md Noor (Universiti Malaya, Malaysia) and Khe Foom HEW (The University of Hong Kong, China). Titles included Privacy Protection in Video Live Streaming, Research of Education Metaverse and Metaverse Education——Take E-Course Explosion as the Center, Advances and Challenges for the Discovery of Interesting Patterns in Network and Educational Data, The Rise of Mobile and Internet Technology in Higher Education and Remote Learning, and Engaging Students in Online Learning Activities Using Chatbots.

The digital revolution that we have experienced since the last quarter of the twentieth century has had some influence, yet to be analysed and extended, on the way mathematics is made, taught and learned. While the rate of innovation in these technologies is growing exponentially, the potential impact of most information technologies on mathematical education remains to be fully exploited. In particular, several authoritative voices point out that the technology that will most likely transform education in the coming years is artificial intelligence (AI). Interestingly, today AI is mainly associated with technologies to automate tasks and lower costs, thus serving primarily the interests of the political-administrative, industrial and commercial world. In this scenario, the world of education and, more specifically, didactics, appears at best as a mere user of AI techniques developed in other fields, forgetting that AI should play a much more relevant role here, serving the human being who is doing his work as a mathematician or who is learning mathematics. The AI4ME symposium at the International Centre for Mathematical Meetings (CIEM) in Castro Urdiales is a space for research and reflection to better understand the interconnected challenges of instrumental learning of mathematics and instrumental mathematics, taking advantage of the achievements and opportunities of Artificial Intelligence for Mathematical Education. This book of abstracts gathers the summaries of the talks presented at the symposium, as well as the conclusions of each of the four thematic groups.

Premiering in 1990 in Antibes, France, the European Conference on Computer Vision, ECCV, has been held biennially at venues all around Europe. These conferences have been very successful, making ECCV a major event to the computer vision community. ECCV 2002 was the seventh in the series. The privilege of organizing it was shared by three universities: The IT University of Copenhagen, the University of Copenhagen, and Lund University, with the conference venue in Copenhagen. These universities lie ̈ geographically close in the vivid Oresund region, which lies partly in Denmark and partly in Sweden, with the newly built bridge (opened summer 2000) crossing the sound that formerly divided the countries. We are very happy to report that this year’s conference attracted more papers than ever before, with around 600 submissions. Still, together with the conference board, we decided to keep the tradition of holding ECCV as a single track conference. Each paper was anonymously refereed by three different reviewers. For the nal selection, for the rst time for ECCV, a system with area chairs was used. These met with the program chairsinLundfortwodaysinFebruary2002toselectwhatbecame45oralpresentations and 181 posters. Also at this meeting the selection was made without knowledge of the authors’identity.

Advances in hardware and networking have made possible a wide use of augmented reality (AR) technologies. However, simply putting those hardware and technologies together does not make a “good” system for end users to use. New design principles and evaluation methods specific to this emerging area are urgently needed to keep up with the advance in technologies. Human Factors in Augmented Reality Environments is the first book on human factors in AR, addressing issues related to design, development, evaluation and application of AR systems. Topics include surveys, case studies, evaluation methods and metrics, HCI theories and design principles, human factors and lessons learned and experience obtained from developing, deploying or evaluating AR systems. The contributors for this cutting-edge volume are well-established researchers from diverse disciplines including psychologists, artists, engineers and scientists. Human Factors in Augmented Reality Environments is designed for a professional audience composed of practitioners and researchers working in the field of AR and human-computer interaction. Advanced-level students in computer science and engineering will also find this book useful as a secondary text or reference.
