The goal of the field of artificial intelligence (AI) known as computer vision is to give computers the ability to see and process visual input from their surroundings in a manner that is comparable to how humans see. This multidisciplinary field makes use of insights from the fields of neuroscience, computer science, mathematics, and engineering in order to construct models and algorithms that provide computers with the ability to recognize patterns, recognize things, and grasp scenarios. In the field of computer vision, the holy grail is the development of systems that are both efficient and accurate, and that are able to recognize objects, scenes, and other visual clues. These are jobs that have traditionally been associated with people. The rapid advancements in machine learning, particularly deep learning, have significantly accelerated the field of computer vision, which has resulted in the development of visual identification systems that are both more complicated and more effective. The most important aspects of computer vision are the methods of data collection, transformation, and analysis when it comes to visual information. For the purpose of initiating the process of image collection, sensors capture digital photographs or video streams of the environment that is surrounding them. In order to guarantee that the data is prepared for analysis, these photographs are preprocessed in order to enhance their quality and reduce the amount of noise. The process continues with the next processes, which are feature extraction and pattern recognition. These are the steps in which algorithms locate and label various components of the image. Feature isolation can be accomplished by a variety of techniques, including color segmentation, edge detection, and texture analysis. Recently, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been a game-changer in the field of computer vision systems. They have accomplished this by automating the process of feature extraction from raw images, which has dramatically improved the accuracy and efficiency of these systems. The numerous applications of computer vision can be of use to a wide variety of industries and professions. X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and other images are analyzed by computer vision, which assists medical personnel in diagnosing and treating patients. Through the ability to read road signs, identify pedestrians, and steer clear of impediments, it enables autonomous vehicles to navigate.

Advancing Health Education With Telemedicine written by Lopez, Mildred and has been published by IGI Global this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-12-10 with Medical categories.

While telemedicine was not a new concept before the COVID-19 pandemic, it has certainly helped to propel telehealth as a popular solution and tool for patients to continue to use well after the impacts of COVID-19 have been felt. However, telehealth also provided solutions for health institutions faced with the challenge of preparing the next generation of medical professionals remotely. Telemedicine allowed medical educators to accompany students in their first encounters with patients and to simulate practical scenarios. Through the pandemic, educators have striven to be more creative and propose solutions to overcome adversities such as language barriers, access to technological infrastructure, and lack of legal framework. Advancing Health Education With Telemedicine discusses and presents alternatives on taking advantage of available technologies and infrastructure of telemedicine and e-health to advance health professionals’ education. This need emerged amid the pandemic to provide patients and their families with support and guidance, but it also brought opportunities to students to continue their training and be involved in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Covering topics such as disease-awareness campaigns, medical education, and online clinical simulation, this book serves as a dynamic resource for medical students, medical professionals, medical directors, educational software developers, researchers, communications experts, professors, and academicians.

The Ethics Of Artificial Intelligence written by Luciano Floridi and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-07-12 with Philosophy categories.

The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence has two goals. The first goal is meta-theoretical and is fulfilled by Part One, which comprises the first three chapters: an interpretation of the past (Chapter 1), the present (Chapter 2), and the future of AI (Chapter 3). Part One develops the thesis that AI is an unprecedented divorce between agency and intelligence. On this basis, Part Two investigates the consequences of such a divorce, developing the thesis that AI as a new form of agency can be harnessed ethically and unethically. It begins (Chapter 4) by offering a unified perspective on the many principles that have been proposed to frame the ethics of AI. This leads to a discussion (Chapter 5) of the potential risks that may undermine the application of these principles, and then (Chapter 6) an analysis of the relation between ethical principles and legal norms, and a definition of soft ethics as post-compliance ethics. Part Two continues by analysing the ethical challenges caused by the development and use of AI (Chapter 7), evil uses of AI (Chapter 8), and good practices when applying AI (Chapter 9). The last group of chapters focuses on the design, development, and deployment of AI for Social Good or AI4SG (Chapter 10); the positive and negative impacts of AI on the environment and how it can be a force for good in the fight against climate change-but not without risks and costs, which can and must be avoided or minimised (Chapter 11); and the possibility of using AI in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Chapter 12). The book concludes (Chapter 13) by arguing in favour of a new marriage between the Green of all our habitats and the Blue of all our digital technologies and how this new marriage can support and develop a better society and a healthier biosphere.
