Handbook Of Nondestructive Evaluation 4 0 written by Norbert Meyendorf and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-06-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This handbook, now as second edition, continues to comprehensively cover the cutting-edge trends and techniques essential for the integration of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) into the changing face of the modern industrial landscape. In particular, it delves into the marriage of NDE with new techniques in e.g. data mining and management, cloud computing, autonomous operation, AI for data analysis and decision making, as well as cyber security, highlighting the potential for cyber-physical controlled production and discussing the myriad possible applications across many different industries. The Handbook of NDE 4.0 centers around the Industry 4.0 philosophy – the next generation of industrial production encompassing all aspects of networking across all industrial areas. It discusses the adaptation of existing NDE techniques to emerging new technological areas, such as 3D printing, via the introduction of cyber systems into the inspection and maintenance processes. In addition, the handbook covers topics such as the management and processing of big data with respect to real-time monitoring of structural integrity and reliable inspection of individual components. Remote NDE to include competence not available on-site will be a potential technique to increase reliability of NDE inspections by integrating additional specialist inputs into the decision process by methods such as telepresence, thereby better leveraging the scarce resources of senior inspectors into industrial inspections at multiple sites. The handbook also includes non-technical topics of direct relevance to leadership, management, and adoption of this new philosophy. The handbook houses a wealth of essential information to help academics, industry professionals, regulatory bodies, and entrepreneurs navigate through this burgeoning new field. The material in this handbook is presented with the intention of ultimately improving human safety through reliable inspections and dependable maintenance of critical infrastructure, while also enhancing business value through reduced downtime, affordable maintenance, and talent optimization. The content is positioned to inspire NDE professionals to think broadly in terms of their role as continuous value add rather than discrete decision support. This second edition contains many new chapters, and half of all chapters were revised from the 1st edition, based on the engagement of authors through global platforms such as the ICDNT Specialist International Group on NDE 4.0 and the International conference series on NDE 4.0.

From a stunning new voice in hard science fiction comes the thrilling story of one woman’s quest to wrest truth from chaos, love from violence, and reality from illusion in a post-human universe of emergent AIs, genetic constructs, and illegal wetware... SPIN STATE UN Peacekeeper Major Catherine Li has made thirty-seven faster-than-light jumps in her lifetime—and has probably forgotten more than most people remember. But that’s what backup hard drives are for. And Li should know; she’s been hacking her memory for fifteen years in order to pass as human. But no memory upgrade can prepare Li for what she finds on Compson’s World: a mining colony she once called home and to which she is sent after a botched raid puts her on the bad side of the powers that be. A dead physicist who just happens to be her cloned twin. A missing dataset that could change the interstellar balance of power and turn a cold war hot. And a mining “accident” that is starting to look more and more like murder... Suddenly Li is chasing a killer in an alien world miles underground where everyone has a secret. And one wrong turn in streamspace, one misstep in the dark alleys of blackmarket tech and interstellar espionage, one risky hookup with an AI could literally blow her mind.

Defect Induced Magnetism In Oxide Semiconductors written by Parmod Kumar and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-05-26 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Defect-Induced Magnetism in Oxide Semiconductors provides an overview of the latest advances in defect engineering to create new magnetic materials and enable new technological applications. First, the book introduces the mechanisms, behavior, and theory of magnetism in oxide semiconductors and reviews the methods of inducing magnetism in these materials. Then, strategies such as pulsed laser deposition and RF sputtering to grow oxide nanostructured materials with induced magnetism are discussed. This is followed by a review of the most relevant postdeposition methods to induce magnetism in oxide semiconductors including annealing, ion irradiation, and ion implantation. Examples of defect-induced magnetism in oxide semiconductors are provided along with selected applications. This book is a suitable reference for academic researchers and practitioners and for people engaged in research and development in the disciplines of materials science and engineering. - Reviews the magnetic, electrical, dielectric and optical properties of oxide semiconductors with defect-induced magnetism - Discusses growth and post-deposition strategies to grow oxide nanostructured materials such as oxide thin films with defect-induced magnetism - Provides examples of materials with defect-induced magnetism such as zinc oxide, cerium dioxide, hafnium dioxide, and more

Out of concern for the state of engineering in the United States, the National Science Foundation (NSF) created the Engineering Research Centers (ERCs) with the goal of improving engineering research and education and helping to keep the United States competitive in global markets. Since the ERC program's inception in 1985, NSF has funded 67 ERCs across the United States. NSF funds each ERC for up to 10 years, during which time the centers build robust partnerships with industry, universities, and other government entities that can ideally sustain them upon graduation from NSF support. To ensure that the ERCs continue to be a source of innovation, economic development, and educational excellence, NSF commissioned the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to convene a 1-day symposium in April 2016. This event featured four plenary panel presentations on: the evolving global context for center-based engineering research, trends in undergraduate and graduate engineering education, new directions in university-industry interaction, and emerging best practices in translating university research into innovation. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussions from the symposium.
