In step-by-step fashion, it presents an effective, universal, visual method to teach students how to think independently and critically, and how to organize their ideas for any instructional purpose. The visual strategies are rooted in the science of human learning and are effective because they tap into the ways that we learn naturally. The Visual Leap method simplifies teaching the skills of the Common Core State Standards and gives teachers explicit ways to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. The strategies work across many grade levels and subject areas and for a wide variety of instructional objectives across the curriculum, such as vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening. Visual Leap offers easy ways to foster dynamic, creative, and critical thinking in the classroom, and provides teachers and students with a toolkit of problem-solving and learning strategies designed to serve them throughout their academic and professional lives.

Often you might have observed - we won't forget many events that occurred in our life. Our brain recalls significant / important / worst events in our life even after many years. Our brain does not forget many events that we experience in life. In many cases visualization is equivalent to one kind of experiencing. Visualizing math means experiencing it. Our brain mainly thinks in terms of pictures. Example - When someone speaks about the ocean, the rough picture of galaxy, universe or ocean etc may appear in our brain. When someone speaks about infinity, then ocean or our galaxy may appear in people's mind. Our brain tries to understand infinity with help of these things. Thus picture are more closure to the brain. Our brain understand the fact, subject easily expressed by pictures. That’s why it is said that "one picture is worth more thousand words ". Advantages of Visual Mathematics 1) Get better conceptual understanding, clarity. 2) Promotes creativity. 3) Makes math learning faster. 4) Develop insight & vision in students. 5) Develops number sense. This book tries to explain essential math concepts by practical examples & visual pictures. Due to this learning math becomes enjoying process. Visualization of math concept through picture play vital role. Visual learning is stress less learning. Techniques of visual learning develop insight in student. It’s the eyes with insight that can look beyond in mathematics. “Person can look beyond if it has vision & insight.Visual math increases insight. " ~ Vitthal B. Jadhav (Mathematician / Lyricist)

An Inc. Magazine business book bestseller: “Positive, insightful, and generous, this book will go a long way in helping you realize that genius is a choice” (Seth Godin). WHAT’S YOUR GENIUS? Forget what you think you know about genius. It’s not a magical, elusive gift — a “lightning bolt from the gods” that strikes people like Einstein or Mozart, but not the rest of us. Everyone’s got genius, but it’s up to you to find it, put it to work, and watch it change your life. This book will show you how to: IDENTIFY YOUR GENIUS Where do your passions and your talents meet? EXPRESS YOUR GENIUS What’s your story, and how do you share it with others? SURROUND YOUR SELF WITH GENIUS Who do you need in your tribe? SUSTAIN YOUR GENIUS How do you feed and care for your genius? MARKET YOUR GENIUS Why are your contradictions actually your largest competitive advantage? The outcome is a profound revelation: You have the tools and ability to realize greatness both in and out of the workplace.

Visual Character Development In Film And Television written by Michael Hanly and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-26 with Art categories.

This book takes a unique look at visual character development in motion pictures and television by using famous works of art combined with modern works of film and television to demonstrate how to weave a visual tale. In a single shot or scene, what should we reveal about a character? What should we conceal? How can we show a character’s progression over time? In Visual Character Development in Film and Television, authors Michael Hanly and Elisabeth Rowney explain how to create compelling visual characters for the screen by analyzing fine art aesthetics and combining them with modern cinematic techniques. Full-color chapters cover character-driven approaches to costume design and makeup application, production design, cinematography and lighting, plot development, editing considerations, and more. By exploring how surroundings, habits, lifestyles – even the color of a sweater – can tell us more about a character on the screen than what can be said in dialogue alone, this book will prove a valuable resource for anyone wanting to take their filmmaking to the next level.

Sound and Image: Aesthetics and Practices brings together international artist scholars to explore diverse sound and image practices, applying critical perspectives to interrogate and evaluate both the aesthetics and practices that underpin the audiovisual. Contributions draw upon established discourses in electroacoustic music, media art history, film studies, critical theory and dance; framing and critiquing these arguments within the context of diverse audiovisual practices. The volume’s interdisciplinary perspective contributes to the rich and evolving dialogue surrounding the audiovisual, demonstrating the value and significance of practice-informed theory, and theory derived from practice. The ideas and approaches explored within this book will find application in a wide range of contexts across the whole scope of audiovisuality, from visual music and experimental film, to narrative film and documentary, to live performance, sound design and into sonic art and electroacoustic music. This book is ideal for artists, composers and researchers investigating theoretical positions and compositional practices which bring together sound and image.

Form Without Matter written by Mark Eli Kalderon and has been published by OUP Oxford this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-01-29 with Philosophy categories.

Mark Eli Kalderon presents an original study in the philosophy of perception written in the medium of historiography. He considers the phenomenology and metaphysics of sensory presentation through the examination of an ancient aporia. Specifically, he argues that a puzzle about perception at a distance is behind Empedocles' theory of vision. Empedocles conceives of perception as a mode of material assimilation, but this raises a puzzle about color vision, since color vision seems to present colors that inhere in distant objects. But if the colors inhere in distant objects how can they be taken in by the organ of sight and so be palpable to sense? Aristotle purports to resolve this puzzle in his definition of perception as the assimilation of sensible form without the matter of the perceived particular. Aristotle explicitly criticizes Empedocles, though he is keen to retain the idea that perception is a mode of assimilation, if not a material mode. Aristotle's notorious definition has long puzzled commentators. Kalderon shows how, read in light of Empedoclean puzzlement about the sensory presentation of remote objects, Aristotle's definition of perception can be better understood. Moreover, when so read, the resulting conception of perception is both attractive and defensible.

The Alphabet Versus The Goddess written by Leonard Shlain and has been published by Penguin this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-09-01 with Social Science categories.

This groundbreaking book proposes that the rise of alphabetic literacy reconfigured the human brain and brought about profound changes in history, religion, and gender relations. Making remarkable connections across brain function, myth, and anthropology, Dr. Shlain shows why pre-literate cultures were principally informed by holistic, right-brain modes that venerated the Goddess, images, and feminine values. Writing drove cultures toward linear left-brain thinking and this shift upset the balance between men and women, initiating the decline of the feminine and ushering in patriarchal rule. Examining the cultures of the Israelites, Greeks, Christians, and Muslims, Shlain reinterprets ancient myths and parables in light of his theory. Provocative and inspiring, this book is a paradigm-shattering work that will transform your view of history and the mind.
