Nei ricordi di un’amica, emerge il ritratto privato e inedito di uno dei grandi leader della sinistra, ancora oggi rimpianto e amato. «Noi bambine non giocavamo a pallone, avevamo i nostri giochi, meno divertenti, oppure stavamo a guardare le partite, molto discusse e sofferte, sedute su una delle panchine. Stavo lì, un pomeriggio, con una mia cuginetta, quando il Berlinguer più grande, Enrico, mi si sedette vicino. Tolse dalle tasche un libro molto vissuto, e si rivolse a me chiedendo: “Tu sei Marina, vero?” Risposi affermativamente e lui mi sorrise e si immerse nella lettura. Da allora ci salutammo, scambiavamo qualche parola. Ero molto contenta che un grande si accorgesse di me, ma quanto era timido, timido bruno e sorridente!» Marina Addis Saba è nata a Sassari. Dopo la laurea in Lettere moderne a Roma, è rientrata in Sardegna e ha iniziato i suoi studi sul fascismo. In seguito al suo impegno femminista si è specializzata in Storia delle Donne, campo diventato l’ambito principale della sua ricerca. È stata Visiting Professor a Madrid, a Barcellona e a Parigi VIII. Ha concluso la sua carriera nella facoltà di Lingue e letterature straniere dell’Università degli studi di Sassari, con l’insegnamento di Storia contemporanea e Storia dell’Europa. Con la sua biografia di Anna Kuliscioff (1993) ha vinto il premio Tobagi. Tra i suoi ultimi saggi: Partigiane. Le donne nella Resistenza (1998), La scelta. Ragazze partigiane e ragazze di Salò (2005) e La farnesina. Giulia Farnese e papa Borgia (2010). Ciò che mi ha portato, ancora una volta, a ricordare Enrico e a pensare di rendere su di lui la mia testimonianza, è il fatto che ho visto da poco in televisione una vecchia intervista nella quale Enrico, alla domanda di cosa avrebbe voluto che si dicesse di lui, rispondeva, col suo sorriso timido e furbo insieme, che non avrebbe voluto si dicesse di lui che era triste. Non era triste infatti.
