Voces polifónicas: itinerarios de los géneros y las sexualidades es el producto de un conjunto de investigaciones desarrolladas en el marco del Proyecto UBACYT S409 de la Carrera de Ciencias de la Comunicación, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, dirigido por María Alicia Gutiérrez. Lo compone una diversidad de investigaciones que desarrollan múltiples miradas centradas en las nociones de género, sexualidad y poder en un contexto histórico-político de enunciación semejante. Las voces polifónicas sonaron como voces cruzadas, mezcladas y heterogéneas que evocaron recorridos y formaciones distintas y posibilitaron el diálogo y el intercambio. Si bien está inscripto dentro de los estudios académicos, la intención es, también, dirigirse a los diversos actores sociales y políticos que se formulan interrogaciones similares.En los inicios de los 90, las diversidades toman la calle y los ámbitos de debate para demandar por derechos de ciudadanía que ponen el centro en la dimensión del cuerpo y en la libertad de decidir con autonomía. El movimiento de mujeres y los de diversidad sexual plantean reclamos e interrogantes, muchos de ellos plasmados en reconocimiento legal y social y otros continuando con la larga lucha que refleja años de demanda y organización.
