En el año de 1893, época en que se organizaron los trabajos regulares del Observatorio Meteorológico y Vulcanológico de Zapotlán, conmenzó también la observación cotidiana del volcán, llevada a cabo con notable entusiasmo por el mismo Sr. Arreola.
