Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2002 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte, Note: 1,5, Philipps-Universität Marburg (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Proseminar: Demokratietheorien, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Unter Demokratie wird gewöhnlich eine Form der Staatsordnung verstanden, die auf Prinzipien der Volksmacht, der Gleichheit und der Freiheit beruht. Alle diese Prinzipien wurden auch von der Sowjetunion nach der Oktoberrevolution 1917 verkündet, doch haben unter den Bedingungen des sozialistischen Entwicklung der Gesellschaft eine andere Bedeutung bekommen. Die sozialistische Demokratie musste nach der sozialistischen Verfassung eine Demokratie grundsätzlich neuen Typus werden, die sich als „die Macht der überwiegenden Mehrheit, der Bevölkerung und später auch des ganzen Volkes“ versteht.2 In allen Verfassungen der UdSSR wurde der demokratische Charakter der sowjetischen Staatskonzeption betont. Das Demokratische in der Sowjetunion bedeutete auch so was wie das Proletarische und wurde zum westlichen bürgerlichen Modell der Demokratie gegenübergestellt. Die sowjetische Staatskonzeption wurde vom Westen sehr stark kritisiert und überwiegend als undemokratisch bezeichnet. Zur Beschreibung des sowjetischen Demokratiemodells, bedienten sich viele westliche Politikwissenschaftler in ihren Arbeiten solcher Bezeichnungen wie „Parteidemokratie“ und „Unrechtsregime“.3 Wie war eigentlich das Demokratieverständnis in der Sowjetunion? War die sowjetische Politik eine Demokratie im Sinne von Westen? Oder war sie nun wirklich die Demokratie „neuen Typus“? Auf diese Fragen will ich in der vorliegenden Arbeit eingehen. Ausgehend davon soll zunächst die marxistischleninistische Lehre von der Entwicklung des sozialen Staates und der sozialistischen Demokratisierung dargestellt werden. During the forty years of division, the Protestant and Catholic churches in Germany were the only organizations to retain strong ties and organizational structures: they embodied continuity in a country marked by discontinuity. As such, the churches were both expected to undergo smooth and rapid institutional consolidation and undertake an active role in the public realm of the new eastern German states in the 1990s. Yet critical voices were heard over the West German system of church-state relations and the public role it confers on religious organizations, and critics often expressed the idea that despite all their difficulties, something precious was lost in the collapse of the German democratic republic.
