Die onderwerpen variëren van middeleeuwse minstrelen, Vlaamse polyfonisten en klokkengieters uit de Gouden Eeuw tot de successen van musici als Willem Mengelberg, Adolphe Sax, Jacques Brel en Louis Andriessen, om slechts enkelen te noemen. Dit boek is geschreven voor een cultureel geïnteresseerd publiek, waarvan niet wordt verwacht dat het noten kan lezen.
