“The Hamptons” is synonymous with luxury. Simply mentioning the name conjures images of poolside soirées, grandiose waterfront estates and endless days on the beach socializing with the upper echelon. But before this famed peninsula became the summer haunt of the glitterati, its forty miles of rolling sand dunes provided the perfect landscape for English settlers. Once New York high society caught wind of the charming hamlets and salty air, its members—from the Fords to the Vanderbilts—soon turned The Hamptons into a summer oasis. Next came the creatives seeking solitude, a place to write and sketch, away from the urban cacophony. John Steinbeck in Sag Harbor. Jackson Pollock in the Springs. And Andy Warhol in Montauk. Now, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Calvin Klein, Madonna, Alec Baldwin and Martha Stewart all enjoy Hamptons homes. They may come from different realms, but what’s one thing all Hamptonites, honorary or official, can agree on? The locale boasts a unique allure—one that morphs to meet the desires of its next seasonal guest or lifelong dweller.

A playboy heir. A near-bankrupt floral designer. A fake marriage gone wrong—or could it be right? Ronan I was born into money, but I can’t touch my trust fund until I turn 35. Unless I get married. But I’m not a one-woman man, and marriage isn’t a trade-off worth even considering. Until now. With my business on the line, I need to tap my trust. And to do that, I need a wife. Ava’s beautiful, classy, and smart. She’s also a hell of an actress, and more than capable of fitting into Hamptons society. In every way, she’s the perfect fake wife for me. Except I want to tap her, too. Ava I never imagined I would consider a fake marriage. All I wanted was to get my business off the ground, and someday—eventually—to meet Mr. Right. But with my dreams about to end in bankruptcy, Ronan’s offer is my only way out. Unfortunately, there’s a catch. When he looks at me, my knees turn to rubber, and when he touches me, my body lights up like a g*ddamned disco ball. He’s anything but Mr. Right. He’s domineering, stubborn, and hot-tempered, and while he knows how to turn on the charm, I can’t let myself fall for it—or for him. He’s my financial salvation. But if I don’t protect myself, he could break my heart. Heir of the Hamptons is a steamy, standalone romance with an HEA. If you like sizzling romance, sexy banter, and characters you’ll laugh and cry with, then you’ll love Ronan and Ava’s story!

Mahvish Khan is the only Afghan-American to walk into Guantanamo of her own accord. This unique book is her story, and the story of the men she grew to know uniquely well inside the cages of Guantanamo. Mahvish Khan is an American lawyer, born to immigrant Afghan parents. She was outraged that her country, the USA, seemed to have suspended its tradition of equality for all under the law with regard to those imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, and so she volunteered to translate for the lawyers - including British lawyer and founder of Reprieve Clive Stafford Smith - acting pro bono for the prisoners. Because she spoke their language, understood their customs and brought them Starbucks chai, the closest available drink to the kind of tea they would drink at home, they quickly befriended her, offering fatherly advice as well as a uniquely personal insight into their plight, and that of their families thousands of miles away at home. Some at Guantanamo are terrorists who deserve to be convicted and sentenced as such. Some are paediatricians and school teachers. We cannot tell the difference until we see them as individuals with their own unique stories. They deserve that much. No other writer has had access to the detainees. This book is a testament to their captivity. It documents the voices of men who have been tortured and held in a black hole of indefinite detention without legal recourse for years. It shows who they are and also allows readers to see that these men are more similar to us than they are different.
