At the end of His earthly ministry, Jesus called his disciples together and gave them His final command for their lives and ministries. Matthew 28:18-20 records Jesus saying, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Jesus had a specific purpose and plan for His disciples in His absence. They were to represent Him to the world around them by teaching the nations of His Gospel of salvation, baptizing those who believed as a public testimony of their faith and then teaching the believers to observe, or put into practice, His teachings (Mark 16:15-16). In Bible times, the title disciple was given to students of a religious teacher. It was expected that such students would not simply learn the information that their teacher provided but also that they would "observe" or diligently apply that teaching to their daily lives so that they would begin to live like him (Matthew 28:20). That is why the apostle John recorded Jesus as saying "to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed" (John 8:31). He later added, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:35). Finally, He stated, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples" (John 15:8). Jesus expects all those who believe on Him to become His disciples by learning and living according to His Word, displaying His love, and glorifying God the Father by allowing Him to produce spiritual fruit in their lives (Luke 14:21-33). One of the primary words used in the New Testament and within Christianity today to describe how a disciple of Jesus Christ is to "observe" His commandments is the word walk. In this context the word walk takes on its figurative meaning of making consistent choices, based on one's beliefs, that form a direction of life for either good or evil, resulting in a habitual lifestyle. It is the purpose of this Bible study to address the forty-seven uses of the word walk in their thirty-two passages, to highlight ten specific biblical truths that should be applied to each believer's daily activities so that the believer can truly be one of Christ's disciples and represent Him to the world.

Jesus calls each of us to live in a way that gives the Father glory, shares his love with everyone around us, and reflects the life of Jesus. He invites us to scatter seed. Scattering seed can be a challenge, though, especially in our public lives, our professional lives, and volunteer lives. Those of us called to teach in some way feel the challenge deeply. We seek to share knowledge, experiences, and life lessons with a broad and varied group of people and do it in a way that shares Christ's love. Often life, curriculum challenges, and student chemistry threaten to derail our best laid plans. When this happens, it's easy to be distracted from our purpose or even to forget that our life calling is the same as our calling to teach. Scattering Seed in Teaching is about returning to that call, or perhaps connecting with it for the first time. It shares stories, interviews, and observations of teachers and students learning about scattering seed. It connects with biblical reminders and encourages us as teachers to reflect on and remember that underlying our professional call to teach is our life call . . . they are one and the same, to scatter seed.

The Word of God is filled with God's Plan for your new life in Christ. It is the will of God that you and I live a victorious Christian life, not one of defeat and hopelessness. Perhaps your past is a source of shame for you and you would like to start over. Jesus Christ died so that you can start over again and begin life anew in Christ. This book gives a good overview map that can be used as you start walking in a new direction. This guide provides some basic information to help you as you take your first steps in a life-long journey of faith as a follower and student of the perfect Teacher. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus gave an invitation to everyone to come follow Him and learn His ways. The "walking" discussed in this manual is spiritual walking not natural walking. Spiritual walking is about the way you are to live and conduct your life as a follower and student of Jesus Christ or as a Christian. When we walk and live in accordance with the Word of God, we walk and live in victory! Are you ready to take your first steps?

"This book is for teachers who have good days and bad — and whose bad days bring the suffering that comes only from something one loves. It is for teachers who refuse to harden their hearts, because they love learners, learning, and the teaching life." — Parker J. Palmer [from the Introduction] For many years, Parker Palmer has worked on behalf of teachers and others who choose their vocations for reasons of the heart but may lose heart because of the troubled, sometimes toxic systems in which they work. Hundreds of thousands of readers have benefited from his approach in THE COURAGE TO TEACH, which takes teachers on an inner journey toward reconnecting with themselves, their students, their colleagues, and their vocations, and reclaiming their passion for one of the most challenging and important of human endeavors. This book builds on a simple premise: good teaching cannot be reduced to technique but is rooted in the identity and integrity of the teacher. Good teaching takes myriad forms but good teachers share one trait: they are authentically present in the classroom, in community with their students and their subject. They possess "a capacity for connectedness" and are able to weave a complex web of connections between themselves, their subjects, and their students, helping their students weave a world for themselves. The connections made by good teachers are held not in their methods but in their hearts — the place where intellect, emotion, spirit, and will converge in the human self — supported by the community that emerges among us when we choose to live authentic lives. BONUS: Includes an audio CD featuring a 45-minute conversation between Parker Palmer and his colleagues, Marcy Jackson and Estrus Tucker from the Center for Courage & Renewal. They reflect on what they have learned from working with thousands of teachers in their "Courage to Teach" program (www.CourageRenewal.org)and with others who yearn for greater integrity in their professional lives. Note: CD-ROM/DVD and other supplementary materials are not included as part of eBook file.

The Bible comes to life like never before in this glorious book, which arguably contains the greatest revelation since the Pauline revelation. This book is prophetic in its timing, simplistic in its presentation, and authoritative and true in its teachings, debunking false doctrines and beliefs, shedding light on difficult subjects, and increasing knowledge in these last days. (Daniel 12:4). The Bible says that "The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, but THROUGH KNOWLEDGE THE RIGHTEOUS WILL BE DELIVERED" (Proverbs 11:9). Many Christians today are asking: "What does it mean to live and walk in the Spirit, and how do I live by walking in the Spirit as instructed by the Bible? How do I, BY THE SPIRIT, put to death the deeds of the body, so that I will LIVE, and not DIE?" This is an urgent question; it demands an immediate answer, because it is a matter of LIFE and DEATH. And yet, there is no major book until now that authoritatively and definitively offers a practical, Scriptural answer. The Bible says, "He has made everything beautiful in its time." (see Ecclesiastes 3:11). If you desire to truly know God and understand and live the Christian faith - receive and lay hold on eternal life, be skilled in the Word of righteousness, live and walk in the Spirit, and experience and flow in the Anointing and power of God - this book is for you. "Spirit Life" is the first book to present the Christian's walk in the Spirit as an all-encompassing lifestyle that comprises walking in love (see Ephesians 5:2), walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), walking in the Word of God or in the truth (see 3 John 1:3-4; Matthew 4:4; Ezekiel 36:27), walking in the light (see 1 John 1:7), walking in newness of life (see Romans 6:4), and walking in Christ (see Colossians 2:6). It also offers practical advice and guidance on how to accomplish each. If in your entire life you could read only one book besides the Bible, this is it! Here is an open invitation to walk through "a door standing open in Heaven." Here is a call to a life lived from the Throne Room of God. Here is the Word of God rightly divided!
